Pro Tools Editing (Master Fader)

I can't really figure out how to use a master fader in Pro Tools LE7. I assumed you just open up a master fader track (as in, Midi, Audio, Instrument, Aux, or Master Fader), tell it where to fade in or out, and all the rest of the track would follow. I was wrong. How do I get that effect and what else can I do with a master fader?

Well if PT is like all the others that can use a master fader it is really just another buss. You simply assign whatever tracks you want to the master fader as if it was another buss. When I'm routing tracks out I generally will route each track to its pertinant buss, such as drums to one buss, guitars to another and so on. Then all those busses get routed to the maste fader buss.

Then if it is a simple fade in or out you want for the beggining or end of the song, you simply right click the master fader and the automation parameters should come up. If the master fader has its own track, then you simply draw in or apply a simple fade out and your done.
