Well I for one have been waiting for this. It is another big step for Cakewalk with Sonar 6 coming out in both Studio and Producer edition.

Here are a couple of the additions that are well worth the wait.

AudioSnap which is a multitrack audio quantizing engine. In the Studio version it will work on single trakcs as well. It features iZotope Radius which is a time stretching algorythm and one of the best out there.

VC-64 Vintage channel. From what I have heard so far this is the one pluggin that might make me give up my PSP Vintage warner. It is a true modeled analog channel strip with dual EQ and compresion. And I understand they have created some presets well worth a look.

Sonar now includes Session Drummer 2, an instrument with some killer drum sounds that works with hundreds of supplied live feel patterns.

Theres more as well. Have a look here.

Looking good Noize. I've been sitting on the fence so long concerning Sonar my butt hurts. LOL
Looks like some great new features have been added.

I did finally break down and buy the Music Creator 3 download for the midi support and to get a feel for the Sonar interface. I just hate the thought of spending another wad on recording software when AA 2 does all I need except for the midi support and a few odds and ends. The bright side though I can now buy the upgrade version of Sonar at subtantial savings even including the cost of MC3 so I just might have to do it. :)

Ya, the console interface has even been smoothed out and made even more usable and customisable then it was before.

I definately wont be complaining about the price of this upgrade at all. They have also put in what they call Active Controller Technology which will dynamically map effects, mixing and softsynth parameters to any hardware controller. That is the one I am most excited about since I am looking at a new keyboard controller from CME which will give me all the control I will ever need.

I placed my pre order last night. But for me it is my main tool so it is worth it in the long run.
