is there a way i can patch a guitar pedal to my mixer and run a guitar track through it?

Do you mean as in sending the allready recorded guitar track out of your sound card and back in after running through an FX pedal. I think it depends on the pedal, if it will accept a line level signal or not. You could try it running a very low level signal first and see. I know I used to run line outputs from my keyboards into stomp boxes, but that was years ago. Not sure if the newer ones can accept that signal or not.

As stated try a very low level signal first.

Ya, I guess I didnt think about that part. If you have an aux send/return you can use that. Just bring the signal into the mixer, add the effect loop running through the aux and then send it out a buss and your all godd.
