US members...have a happy and safe July 4th.

Regardless of your feelings of the current political climate in the US, tomorrow I plan to celebrate how fortunate I am to be an American, how blessed we have been and how well the nation, on the whole, has done.

People have been predicting horrible things for the US, some citizens are making disgusting displays of protest and disgusting displays of "patriotism", as the disgust goes both ways. But I refuse to let that get to me tomorrow.

Be happy, be safe, be thankful for what you do have, not angry, bitter or pissed off about the things you don't.

I was fishing with ma' dad ... I caught the bigger fish... and am now intoxicated... made it off the lake before a nasty storme hit... and we still have power... which is suprising... I don't think I'll blow anything up this year though... I get to hopfully finish installing sound junk at the church tomarrow :) it's only been 6 months since we started...

Well the boyz are both up at the lake with the mother. I am stuck here driving miss daisey to work and crap. But I may toddle on over to dB's later tommorrow to watch him or the girls lighting some low level bang bang fizz fizz stuff off. Today I am enjoying ripping a new back portal for the morons that installed some of my audio gear in the car. They fixed one problem only to make things even worse.

But indeed all, please enjoy a safe and full fingered 4th of July.

I was so hung over on the 4th that I barely participated in the festivities. The 5th was our first opportunity to actually get blowed up, and we did. My dad, twin neices and nephew all went out to my aunt's property in rural Oklahoma and we blew up everything in sight. It was a great time.

We found these M-60 look-alikes called Sidekicks that were awesome. They were the loudest firecrackers I've ever used, and not only were they waterproof, but they sank in water. So you light them, toss them in the pond, and there's this huge low-frequency boom underwater that was ever so rewarding. I'll look for those again next year for sure.

I spent a bit over at dB's house with his family. He was thrilling the girls with some fancy sparkler do-dads before proceeding to light up the neighborhood with some minimul fountains and such. Not really though. He had several the he thought were light duty stuff, low level fountains and such. Not a chance. He lights one of the mortar looking ones and kaboom, up goes a pretty good sized shell and explodes to the girls delight, and mine into a big starburst kinda thing. His neighbor on the hill was cheering gleefully as were we all. Needles to say he had several more that were much bigger then he thought. My vote went to him for the biggest bang in the neighborhood. As I left he and the neighbor went up the hill to watch 3 or 4 differant large fireworks shows around the towns. I went home and crashed for work the next day.
