if not, go back to forum. if so-
1)in what condition should the demos be. Should i hit a local recording studio, or just really clean up and re-record a few songs at home.
2)do you make any money directly? or just from selling something to a commercial or something.
3)has anyone here gotten a "deal" from them?
4)are there other online thingy's like this that are better or worse? i could check out.
The new tonyd plan is to make some sort of money from my music- 15 bucks and a couple of free beers is nice at the pub.....but the wife hardly considers that compensation for all the crap ive bought. (and i have hardly anything compared with most of the people here)

Be wary...actually, that isn't exactly true. You stand nothing to loose really, other than the rights to your music. Let me explain...

Many of these things are "scammish" meaning not really a scam, just trying to take advantage of an artist, or people that have an emotional attachment to their wares.

I am not saying TONOS is one ot these. I don't know if they are or not. so I can't really say. But here are some things to watch for.

Lots of places will get your music and push them to film makers, commercial makers, record producers, etc. And they will "sign" you. Here is the catch, with some of these more impersonal outfits you need to read the fine print, some say that your music is then their property and you are payed as a contracted who is hired to write the song and nothing more. Then, if you decide to market elsewhere the music is no longer your to market, it is theirs.

Bottom line is this, protect your own...alot of people will promise crap by filling your head with dreams while they are ripping off your art. Ask any major label artist...we have all heard those stories...

However, if you can get signed and get a good deal, kick butt!

Tony, you might want to lookinto an outfit called Taxi. www.taxi.com They are pretty well spoken off, although I have never used them.

But like dB said, read the fine print very carefully. There is alway's something to look out for, as these guy's are looking to make money too. And I don't mean that in a bad way, just that some of them are more apt. to take advantage then other's.
