hey i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on headphones around maybe 40 or so that would be good for when recording drums?

May 26, 2006 08:01 pm I think that AKG has a pair that they sell for $40. My friend bought a pair and is very happy with them. Matter of fact, his first project with them was tracking drums at my house. I ended up with no noticeable bleed from them in the tracks, so they get pretty good isolation. I believe his were the K66 model.

May 27, 2006 01:26 am You just need something that'll output high volume, if you can't afford isolated headphones which'll reduce bleed into the drum mics then wrap a towel around your head whilst wearing them, it dramatically reduces bleed.

May 27, 2006 12:55 pm and then put a towel over that! Then a helmet and a couple of matress pads, a bit of clearcoat lacquer, and voila! A sculpture!
Then Walt will come in with his stuffed bra over his head to evaluate your leakage prevention device
That image still sticks in my mind of Walt and the bra. He needs a shot of that in his photo gallery or something :D
