What guitar, and which pickups are you going to use for the solo? This will help a bit. I will try and have a look and see if I can nail a tone for ya when I see waht kind of guitar and pickups you are going with.

And honestly, it will take some tweaking to get a tone that sounds like that depending on the guitar you are using. You wont find one right out of the box that will match that tone.

You are right and thanks for your time! The guitar I have is actually not really for what I play and what I like to play, its a schecter omen 6, stock pickups, i really dont think its for this kind of song, but thats y im trying to find a tone to cover. Thanks for the help

Nothing wrong with the Schecter at all. I will try finding something that might work for ya. I can set my DiMarzio's to parralell and that should simulate your stock pickups.

Are you suing neck or bridge pickup by the way? The bridge would probably give the best result.

ahh, srry for posting late,

I actually have both of them on, when i get home first thing I'll just use the bridge see how it sounds, I really appreciate this! The thing is when u listen to Page play it its not really on pure overdrive, its actually quite clean with a little overdrive on it, thats wat im trying to achieve, thanks again!

OK, now that helps some. Ya, try just the bridge pickup.

And without trying it here I will suggest something with either the 68 plexi jump lead, I think the patch is Sunshine Box. Kill the stomp box on it as you dont need that much fuzz. Or just try turning it down some. Turn the drive down till you get the tone you want. And maybe back down the presence a little as well. Just experiment a bit.

The other one to try is the 68 plexi lead 100. I think the patch to bring that one up is Machine Gun. You will want to turn off the mod pedal on that one. Then same as above, start turning the drive down to clean it up a bit. I dont remember how high the presence is on that one but if its above 5 bring it back some as well.

I am pretty sure the Marshall will do it. Although Page was using a ton of differant stuff in the studio back then. He was even rumored to have used some little Gibson amp on a lot of stuff.

I will try to tweak a patch when I get a little time if you dont find a tone you like.

I did find out he used a 68 Telecaster with a little Supro amplifier for the solo in the studio. But of coarse we know he used a marshall stack and the double necked Gibson to do it live.

So the Marshall of course will give the best result.

If you want to experiment a little try changing the cab to a single 12 or something along those lines. Maybe the Twead cabinet would work as well.
