Oct 17, 2002 03:23 pm i hit that offer up. if its actually free.. ill be quite happy. i didnt really want to pay for the upgrade hehe.
Oct 17, 2002 03:26 pm ya know, the coolest part is that with Norton, if you watch the local comnputer store they often offer upgrades for like $10-$20 after mail-in rebate, upgrade rebate, etc...I bought Antivirus version 2 at full price, and since then I don't think I have ever paid over $10 for any Norton app since...

Oct 17, 2002 04:52 pm Hello guys!!
What are your experiences about having Norton anitivirus in a DAW machine??
I have the 2002 version but I haven't installed yet because I'am afraid that something wrong could happen.
Do you think is safe?? Do you have any tips??
Thanks for your time
Oct 17, 2002 06:06 pm It has worked fine for me, I just don't have it running all the time, I don't have it in the background, I open it and run a system scan every now and then, but not full time, real time protection...that would dog the system down.

Oct 17, 2002 09:40 pm I used to keep it running all the time, but like dB said, it slowed the system down a bit. Otherwise, I love it.

Oct 25, 2002 10:17 pm norton is awfull. if you read up on it you'll find that it actually changes the attribute of certain files and if it get's corrupted or uninstalled improperly you're in a world of hurt... especially if it's your music machine. i use avg from grisoft.com. it provides free lifetime upgrades and right now it's FREE!
