Flame,

You very well may be right. We where obviously just hoping someone might head us in a good direction. We are producing music both recorded and created (fruitloops) as well as naritive tracks with the sound studio. We also have still photography down pretty well. Our next big step is motion video. Just like with the audio equipment, it is a pretty big nut to crack. One could purchase a chit-load of stuff before stumbling on to compatable equipment that makes sense.

Regardless, thank you for a reaponse! Even "this be the wrong place" is a start!

Ya, I have been trying to think of someone I may know that would have an answer for ya, but I really can't. Someof us, myself included, have video editing experience, but I am having a hard time thinking of anyone that has video taping experience...

Db,

Thanks for giving it consideration! It would seem that this time we have really found a small segment of folks that are interested in what we are. I have found three manufacturers that claim to have cameras that are "comercial grade" and yet not "movie studio" grade. Sony, Panasonic, and Olimpus offer cameras ranging 2 to 4 K that might be ok. Get into movie studio and add Zeros to the right of the figure fast! I have one lead to back track on. My wife did her masters via MaryGrove distance learning program. Their tapes where done nicely! I will back track that and see if they and or their venders will share.

I have a friend here at work who is into it, I will see if I can get him to shed some light...I remember him saying a decent semi-pro camera would cost about 5k...stay tuned.

His suggestion was the Canon GL2, he has the GL1 and the GL2 is the next version, he said it's a great no-frill, high quality camera. No effects and crap (cuz you should do that post-production anyway) and it is a 3 chip setup with a chip for each RGB color (red, green and blue).

That was his suggestion.

Db,

You blow me away. I can't thank you enough for taking the time from work to research this! Although I can not promise at this point, I truely hope and intend to throw some work your way in the not too distant future. I have sent you an inquery via your contact link. We can go from there.

Thanks again!

hey, no prob, you are a valuable, fun (though often missed with long absenses) and knowledgable member of this little gang of ours...I am happy to do what I can for ya.

P.S., I got your mail, as they say on AOHell "You've got mail" ;-)

My sincerist appologies for the irregularity (all puns intended). Getting ISD off the ground has been a drink from a fire hose. I would love to ramble on about it but the valve is not completely shut down just yet. We're down to ground pounding and it looks like we will be landing an account or two within the week! Cell phone, voice memo, and labtop and away we go! I hope to regain some regularity soon.

Just keep on that steady diet of fiber-supplements and you'll be regular in no time :-)

I wondered where you where! I've missed swaping quotes and basterdizing the english language with you! Still havn't seen that jeep around. I'll have to send you a picture of my partner's hillbilly hot rod. A tracker with a carberator stuck through the hood and out riggers. You should see the twisted mess down under! Real masterpiece! Great addition to his Empire!

PS. Did you ever review that piece I sent you? I am still interested in your sonic impressions. Obviously the song is just a hoot, but I would like any hints on the sonic side.

I did give it a listen and it was pretty good. I must have gotten side tracked as usual and never did get back to you. I will dig it up and give another listen and forward some inspirational attitude. Good to see your still kickin.

I know the sidetracked thing! Can't find the main line most of the time. I have stickey notes comming out my donkey! I really would appreciate a sonic critique. The song is obviously just a gag and the musicians are pretty much just three chords and four beers (except that awsome bass player of course) hehehehe. I will be doing a more serious atempt at an album this weekend. Smooth sounds of the Saline Big Band. Live at the Wolter's mansion (our fearless director). Draging in the heavy equipment. Full micing of drums, DI guitar, bass, keyboard. Section mics on brass and reed sections. Taps off of the PA. And of course ambient micing for band and audiance. Should fill almost all 24 channels. Wish you where here. If it paid more I would fly you in! Alas....not yet.

That was almost poetic there Walt. I would love to come see you guy's play live. There is something about hearing the big band sound live that is awe inspiring. I think that is were some of my old stuff got the horn influance, before using horn sound's was even kool. Oh well, good luck on the gig, and I will pull up the track and give a listen this weekend and let you know what I truly thought.
