what is a really good direct box for a guitar and a guitar amp and whats a really good one for a accustic guitar and bass

Mar 06, 2006 08:51 am Depends on what you're after, really... Are you looking for something with phantom power for a condensor mic? Do you have to impedance match? Are you looking for a passive or an active one? Ground lifting? They come with so many options, in so many ranges of quality, with some many different input/output configurations... You almost have to decide what you need before you decide what you need... Sorry, couldn't pass it up...

and all sorts of others. Use their "Search" function for "direct box" and look at all the hits you get.
Another thing to do is a "Search" on this site, which will give you all sorts of excellent articles, and will probably help you narrow down your valid choices...

Then, outside of Line 6 land, Behringer makes some unit called V-Amps for guitar and bass

I had the bass unit for a while and it's actually much more versatile than the guitar unit having presets for guitars, basses and keyboards. It isn't a POD, but for the price, it's a very good product.
