can anyone recommend a good d/i lead for recording bass XLR to XLR? does anyone know if you can get leads that are made for recording bass or are they pretty much standard?
im pretty sure i came across a XLR lead online awhile ago claiming to be designed for bass saying it works better with the lower freq. (could be a pile of crap?) ...but now i cant find it.

Feb 08, 2006 09:17 pm I'm not sure what you mean by "lead"
As for bass D/I, I think that the SansAmp DI is the one that I hear raved about the most.
I use an ART TubeMP Studio, and I think that a bass DI is the only thing its really good for. I use a cheap SX bass into that thing and I think it sounds pretty darned good for the price (both the bass and the ART).

Feb 08, 2006 10:47 pm I'm thinking he(she) means the cable. UK people tend to use the word 'lead' for our cable.
Most cables (leads) are generally the same for all stuff. If you buy quality, it should be good.
I wouldn't buy into 'a cable made better for bass' idea. Wire is wire, buy a decent quality one, (or make one yourself) and it should work for bass, git, keys, voice, whatever.
I'm curious as to how you're going to get an XLR cable into a bass guitar, though.
