i'm a bit confused....are you wanting to send 8 tracks out of protools to your mixer and use your outboard mixer to mix? or are you tryin' to use the mixer to get eight tracks into protools?

you should have channel 'inserts' on each input on your mixer....you can use a 1/4" mono cable to connect each channel to an input on your digibox. remember to put the 1/4" cable in until the first click and not all the way in....this will give you track seperation.

cheers

I don't understand because the inserts are for inputs into the mixboard I want to go 8 outs from the mixboard into the inputs of the digibox or can I use inserts as outs

Inserts are ins and outs in one jack, it's a loop. It's a three lead connector, one in, one out and one ground. Plug it in to the first little "click" and it's an output.
