Americans have a good Memorial Weekend?

anyone do anything fun?

My gym was closed, so I didn't train at all, I worked a little bit, re-did my flagstone patio in the front yard (likely finish it up today sometime), drank some beer and the watched UFC 51 video, talked to the neighbors...

just putzed around all weekend...

FYI to non-americans, the last Monday of May is "Memorial Day" a holiday that is tradiitionally meant as a memory and in honor of soldiers that have paid the ultimate price for freedom.

If anyone dares turn this into a political rant thread about war and killing and crap they will be banned on the spot, no questions asked, just fair warning. I am NOT in a good ****** mood this morning...looking for good stories about the holiday weekend to try to smile.

I took Thurs and Fri off of work and used the 5-day weekend to:
- write a cover letter and resume to send in to what could be a dream job
- till, plant, mulch, and fence in a vegetable garden
- power wash my deck and strip the sealer off
- repaint the deck
- wash the truck (look at those wheels shine!)
- start toying with one of TonyD's songs
- totally destroy a bottle of scotch
- smoke a few cigars

all in all, not a very relaxing weekend, but i feel very accomplished! Oh, and I still managed to watch a good part of the Law & Order marathon on TNT :)

The missus and I went on an emergency trip to springfield OH to help her sister out. Left thursday and returned saturday, so my weekend was pretty used up.

On a plus, I did get to cut the lawn at our temp house, and I also received my Juno-D and the stand and bag, so I got to play with that on sunday and monday. We also went to my niece's graduation party on monday, so that was nice. We also tended our garden at our house.

All in all, a good weekend.

Lost for words with all to say.

Visit some friends

Finally got the vocals recorded and mixed in to complete my EP

Chilled with my fiance and went to see a movie with her (chick flick, thank God for snacks during a movie!)

Came home and chatted with my mums!

Went to bed

All in all a restful memorial day.

Oh, The bloody Crusaders beat the Waratahs!

Not good!

I'll send $20 (USD) to anyone from the USA who knows what that means WITHOUT the aid of the net :)

Obviously amnesty applies!

Went to my friends high school graduation saturday and then went over to another party and got plastered, woke up sunday morning and drove down to the beach waltzing from spot to spot talking to people and getting beer, hopped on the ferry and rode out on the water for a few hours watching the dolphins, then drove back to houston to hang out at a coffee shop with some of my friends. All in all, not bad.

I flew up to Portland on Friday and met up with my mother's whole family. We were all there to see my cousin graduate from law school. I always enjoy getting a chance to hang out with my cousin and the rest of my family, so that was great. Got back late Sunday evening. Monday I hooked up with a couple friends and took a day trip to Santa Cruz beach boardwalk. Basically it's a small amusement park right on the beach. That was fun too. But can you believe it. 4 day weekend and I didn't even get drunk. Though I did drink over a half gallon of beer on Friday, it's just that when you sread it over 6 hours, there was no ill effects. But good times, yeah, good times.

Saturday: Farmer's Market for 'er indoors to get another orchid. Very nice. Lunch out, then home for Margaritas, and then I surprised her with a take-out Indian meal.

Sunday: Relaxing at the beach with friends. Grilled sausages and veggies (onna bun, with Hot Sauce From Hell.....ahhhhh!!!). Got a bit wind-burned. Couple of beers.

Monday: Woke up to a dead fish in the aquarium (sand-sifting goby)...'er indoors went a-working, so I hung out with the boy. Hot as H.E. double hockey-sticks. Made a very nice Tiramisu. One beer all day.

Not bad.

bummer, ya lost a goby, that's too bad.

When I land another contract one of my first goals is to get an aquarium again. Now that my kids are a little older...I used to have a bunch of them.

At most I think once I had 12-14 tanks, one 70 gallon and a couple 55 gallons which were full of African Cichlids, when they bred I put the babies in various other tanks to raise them to a big enough size where I could sell them to local stores.

I had a couple salt water tanks at various times, which are very cool, but it's hard to have as many fish in them because salt water doesn't hold as much oxygen as fresh water...still, some neat fish though...

I gotta get one again...I miss my aquariums.

now thats alot of aquariums, i tried the saltwater tank once, had a couple of clown fish, a small yellow tang and some other weird creature that looked like a space ship with a tail. they all bit the dust unfortunately, i decided fresh water was about all i could handle, but there are some tripped out looking salt water fish..

Nothing much special here over the long weekend.
Saturday got up late, worked on some drums for Coco, watched a movie.. Blade Trinity.

Sunday, watched the Nascar race while putting 2 4 drawer cabinets together, worked some more on drums for Coco :)

Monday, spent all day working on a new song, but still a ways to go, watched another movie.. Oceans 11 & 12 2 for 1 on PPV. LOL

Loki,

Yes they are rugby teams!!!

I required "Super 12 final" for a strictly correct answer im afraid, but .....

But no contestant ever leaves empty handed so you have won the official "HRC Board Game".

Thats right, now you can enjoy all the excitement and suspense that is 'HRC' from your very own living room.
