Haha! The funny thing is that there's no plain vanilla or cherry dr. pepper, is there? You'd think they would work their way up to it...

It sounds pretty good, though. Diet Dr. Pepper is one of the few decent diet sodas, in my opinion.

I'm with Tadpui, I don't wear fake leather, don't drink "light" beer...it's all the same, lame impersonations of the original.

I don't drink much soda anymore (unless it's jarritos), but for the record, I hate dr. pepper, diet soda, and cherry soda!

Ha!!!! Now, when it comes to drinkin, juice (soda) beer, red bull, etc - am yer man!! hehe.

As for red bull, man, ye need to have it with:

VODKA
BEER
GIN
ANYTHING.... :-)

Mix goes something like, 1/2 shots vodka, small amount of red bull, repeat til can empty, proquire more vodka, repeat til can empty, proquire more red bull and more vodka, repeat til wallet empty...ye get the picture. A GOOD night oot BUT....when ye awake fi yer drunken slumber (due to the vodka!!) Ye STARE at the roof for hrs, realising its only 4am!!!! Then, ye are rudely awakened by the lark at 6am....woooohoo! Thats the bull for ye.

As for Dr Pepper...like it I do not. And ALL DIET juice sucks man...sorry, my opinion. Watery, tatestless awful stuff.

For sugar or NOT at all for me.

As for light beer...us Scots would not entertain such a thing, unless we were perhaps so drunk we couldnt tell the difference but then, we would not be real Scots! hehehe.

All the best to ye's.

Coco.

The sugar substitute in diet soda tastes like it is probably worse for you than the sugar it replaces...

Coke's C2 is a pretty good compromise, in my opinion.

Dr. Pepper = Fizzy Prune Juice. You can keep it.

Red Bull + Vodka = BAD Hangover (but fun)

Irn Bru + Vodka = NICE

Mountain Dew rules. Shame about the silly flavoured ones though.

Young's ?? Never heard of it my man...

I drink a lot of brown stuff! hehe...nah, I drink Miller Lager and McEwans Beers...I started as a beer drinker a little before I, ahem, should have, then drrank lager for a while.

Now, I like both tho I predominantly drink lager in cans (cheaper than bottles) usually Miller Draft (note: NOT MGD which is in bottles). I'll also drink a bit of Carlsberg as I love that stuff.

But, McEwans 80/ or Newcastle Brown Ale IS THE dogs for sure...top top beer and NAE DOUBT. I do like a good pint of proper beer or a bottle of ale but alas, the lager goes doon easier and faster.

If not that, I'd have a wee vodka or on the very rare occassion, a wee dram of whisky. NOTE: Not any guff but decent Scottish single malt...

But, mostly, I drink tea or coffee...as otherwssidjse, I'ds justt be sto oo frdrunk too mt type ! hehehehe.

Cheers

PorpoiseMuffins, you are right. there is this stuff in diet soda called phenalalynene (sp) that is so incredibly horrible for your kidneys and brain that if you look on the side of the can it says in CONTAINS: PHENEALALYNENE.

My fiance works with a guy who supposedly helped create the stuff (or knows a guys who knows a guy). He said Coke told it's scientists to make something that is calorie and sodium free. well it is calorie and sodium free, but it kills people slowly and makes them stupid. But hey, at least you'll be skinny, right?

You'd be surprised how many "good things" are bad.

It good to recycle paper, right? save a tree and all that? Well, the bleach to make the paper all white again adds to opening the hole in the Ozone a little wider...

Coco, allow me to field XTC's question on Young's here, since I am a Wandsworth native (home of the Young's Brewery). My cousin actually works there!

Youngs is, IMHO, the absolute best beer! A pint of "ordinary" or a light and bitter! Fantastic. Ram Rod is their bottled ale, usually used to as the top-half of the aforesaid light and bitter. Very strong (at least the English version is). I grew up on that stuff (also a "bit early"), and it does actually take an acquired taste. My favourite "game" was to take my relatives from Yorkshire to a Youngs pub, and listen to them complain about how weak the beer was...... After a few, we'd go outside, and they'd drop like flies! Couldn't handle it! So much for the Yorkshire beers.

If you ever get the opportunity, try the "Winter Warmer." Very strong, only sold in 1/2 pints in the pubs, and only available in the winter months. Fantastic. A bit like a porter.

Youngs still delivers the beer to the local pubs on drays pulled by Shire Horses (like a dark chestnut Clydesdale, only more massive). Have been doing this forever. Plus they have a little farm yard thing in the grounds of the brewery.
Ah, that Wandle water (if you saw the Wandle, you'd see why that's funny).

OOoooooh, the memories.......

By the way, Coco, the 80/- is fantastic, but makes for a quiet breakfast. McKewans "Red Death" (Export) is awful. Tennants. Now there's a good one.

I'm totally into the Single Malts. Can barely touch anything else any more.

sorry boys, no offense, but I can't stand scotch whisky. Too smoky, peaty, or whatever it is. If you're gonna go whisky, I propose Canadian, specifically VO or Crown, and on the rocks. Emmmm, VO....

My brother in law ('er indoors' sister's hubby) refers to Scotch as "That Salty Sh**"
He's into Irish Whiskies.

Canadian, Bourbon, and Irish all seem a little too 'sweet' and syrupy to me.

I guess everyone is different. That's why there are so many choices out there.

Did get right into Bourbon and Crystal Pepsi at one point. Wonderful! Then they discontinued the Crystal Pepsi. GaH!

XTC, do they have a Trader Joe's near you? They carry Young's on occasion.

Sorry, but every time I see your name appear, I get "We're only making plans for Nigel" stuck in my head.... Iknow there are some wonderful XTC albums, but that's the one that sticks.

now i have to read up about phenylalanine, since i've recently become addicted to listerine mint ... tape. whatever that tape stuff is.

hey, you purists! i'd like to make the case for a fine american watery beer called rolling rock. now, i like my guinness, just like anyone. but sometimes you need beer...without needing beer. sometimes i just want to swig something that doesnt require me to enjoy it. or, well, even notice it. that's why i enjoy rolling rock: the finest carbonated alcoholic meltwater you can find. utterly non-intrusive, ya barely know it's there. with no crappo aftertaste, it stands above brands like bud or miller. and it even comes in a cool green bottle. rolling rock: cultivate your repressed love of the tasteless!

I can't drink hard liquor, only beer.

I have this really bizarre allergy to hard liquor that makes my eyes swell up and a lips break and I never remember it happening.

i don't trust beer in green bottles....i read in the beer encyclopedia that the bottle color has alot to do with how it's made, like clear bottles let in all the light so the yeast in it is dead (i think) then you have dark brown bottles which let in very little light, but green...green bottles i just wierd, ha ever look inside a bottle of guiness? ya can't!! lol
anyway yeah i try to stick to brown bottled dark lagers...tastey as for a "drinking" beer i find unkle auggie's micky light does the trick for me.

peace
