I just went and listened to and left a review/rating for every song on the Pro side in member's music, except for the electronic and classical stuff (I'm not really into those genres).
So, I'm just letting you know in case you guys with songs posted are interested. More people should leave ratings.... :)

Hey, thanks TCB, sometimes I wonder why I made that feature since nobody uses it :(

Thanks for using...and for the reviews of my stuff :-)

"Thanks for using...and for the reviews of my stuff :-)"

No problem... I love indie music. I like it even better when I kind of know the artists, as well.

Correction: I was unable to hear the (offsite) songs by jues and blueninjastar. Bummer - I remembered hearing those from before and was looking forward to hearing them again.

Nice going Tincan! I started to do that when I first got here and then got sidetracked and only left 1 or 2 reviews. You've inspired me to go back and finish the job, heck I've listened to everyone of them up there several times! :)

It is a shame more people don't use the feature.

Yes, it is, I wanted to use the ratings to start some sort of "HRC Chart" but it never got used much so I never made the chart...figuratively and literally :-D

hmmm, for some reason, my songs weren't listed in the members music section but they were on my profile. Now they're listed again after I edited the song posting. Oh well.

You are right. I am very remis in doing that. To my perception I am not familiar enough with most of the genre's today to be a resonable critic. I know on the last metal song I mixed I had to ask the musicians what kind of tone they wanted as I would just not make noise like that. Don't get me wrong, that's not a slight, I just have no interest personally. But I do like the idea of receiving ratings.... so I guess it would be only reasonable of me to rate.

I'll change my ways. Good post.

Well, I can't really be too upset, as I have only given a couple myself...I just simply don't have the time and am guessing many peeps don't.

"To my perception I am not familiar enough with most of the genre's today to be a resonable critic."

I can understand the reasoning that would cause you to say that, but I think that with a few exceptions, songwriting is something that carries its own yardstick, independant of genre. I mean, I don't listen to pop, but when I hear the American Idolatry singers I know who's doing a good job and who's clawing desperately to hit their notes. Go with your instincts... You don't have to really like it to judge it. I don't like most rock songs, but I can tell a good one from a lame one. Of course, if you just don't like a particular genre at all it might be best to stay out of it, like me with electronica and country.

"You don't have to really like it to judge it"

that's great. I'm the worst. I judge everything, whether I like it or not. In fact that's usually how I find out if I like it or not.

I am just now starting to enter that blissful state of not giving a crap anymore...it's really quite peaceful.

hey, no problem Tincan, I enjoy listening to your stuff, and right back at ya, I appreciate the reviews you did on mine, . :)

I'm working my way through all the songs and giving my 2 cents worth, there's quite a bit of good music here on HRC! And maybe if people start seeing some reviews done more will join in.

OK, now I too feel the pangs of guilt. I seem to listen outside the music section when they are posted by soemone to go have a listen, and I make my comments in the thread and such. But it never occured to go use the rating/comment system we have here. I will however now make ans attempt to do so, now that it seems to be getting used.

OK, so now Im off to see if he rated any of my tunes as well.

I started popping a couple in, and will try and get to the rest this week. I do like the idea of getting the reviews posted with the tune, and will do that now as the tunes come up.
