Whew, so I finally got my new set up all, uh, set up. Got my new 'puter running with CEP 2.1, and the upgraded version of Massiva which is a neat little VST sequencer which can also call VST's within it. I've got a whole bunch of new and better soundfonts to play with. I (finally!) connected my Grace Model 101 mic pre to the Delta 66 which I also finally installed. I tell ya, with the Neumann condensor and the Model 101 and Delta, my vocals sound SOOOOOOO clean. I'm loving the game. And boy do I have a lot of projects that need to be worked on. First things first, a couple Christmas songs for my family. Thanks guys for all the insights. I've learned alot from you folks.

Dec 01, 2003 06:12 pm Thats great coolo. Glad to hear it all came together. I am gonna start dumping some of my old samples and such onto a new drive since I finally found drivers for my old SparQ 1gig removable drive to work in XP. I have about 30 gig of samples and tunes on those suckers and have not been able to mess with em for about 5 years since I upgraded from win95. And just never got the gumption to build a box soully for the purpose of transfering the stuff.
Hope you post the christmass stuff. i would be curious to hear what you do.
Peace

Dec 02, 2003 07:48 am oh yeah...theres more gay people than straight at our company cos of equal opportunities laws here too, same with asians and muslims and all of whats considered 'minority groups' - companies cant be seen to be employing too many average white people.
problem is, in our area at least, that those in minority groups will now often get the jobs over someone equally skilled who's not in a minority group, just to make the employers look good.
one of our salemen doesnt even speak english, which is a hastle...

Dec 02, 2003 07:49 am oh yeah, and dont be offended by anything ive said there people - ive got nothing against anyone PERIOD.
i could do without arguements on here or anything...
Dec 02, 2003 07:56 am Ya, I have nothing against anyone except stupid people that think society OWES them so they live off of welfare and stuff...willingly, THAT pisses me off.
I don't quite get all the "Equal Opportunity" laws, it seems to me that as soon as a law is passed regarding anyone specified by race, religion or anything, that actually MAKES it unequal...because now it unfairly gives then ADVANTAGE.

Dec 02, 2003 08:00 am exactly. so, now theoretically, i could argue that I'm being discriminated against.
cant wait til i move to the US...
Dec 02, 2003 08:07 am Exactly, I went into the IDS tower yesterday (tallest building in MN...at least I thinkit still is) and saw a big minora (or whatever the jewish peeps call that big candlestick they celebrate with) and wondered if I should be offended...first thing I thought was "good thing thats not a nativity scene or someone would be mod!"
Everyone gets theirs except as WASP's...(white anglo-saxon protestants)...seems unfair, but whatever...

Dec 02, 2003 08:25 am Oh yea, Isn't it just the snitz! We do it for them and the result of that is that they can't do it themselves so now they are victoms. Affirmitive action in progress! And on and on it goes far into the night. There is no master, there is no slave, there is no bad, only un-good!
Dec 02, 2003 08:27 am I hear that...affirmative action CREATES inequality.
Rut Row Raggy, this thread is gonna tick someone off somewhere...I can just picture the feuds...

Dec 02, 2003 08:41 am i know. end of potentially-offensive discussion!
Dec 02, 2003 08:46 am And right there is half the problem. It's gotten so bad that people are scared to talk about real things cuz it might offend someone...even if it's totally true and real...
oh well, I agree, I'll bow out now before I get modded by my mods LOL

Dec 02, 2003 08:54 am But in the end we shold be glad coolo got his rig working. I think that is how this thread started. :-)
But agreeing, the world has gotten much to sensative to others while forgetting about those who were there, here and wherever in the first place.
Side note: Do ya think they will put up a nativity scene in the IDS, or will that offend those who put up the minora?
Dec 02, 2003 08:56 am Hell no they won't, just the minora and a bunch of snow-bears, santas, and other crap. Couldn't put up a Nativity, it might offend someone.
Santa offends me. Fat bastard all intruiged with little kids...and the minature slave labor force he has...Santa is sick.

Dec 02, 2003 09:17 am You crack me up Db. I played Santa once for Halloween. Kids come around the corner and I'd hear them say "look mommy santa!" I'd turn around and watch them climb up mom screaming. Great fun. I'll bet the fires where burning big time in their fireplaces next Christmas!

Dec 02, 2003 01:33 pm Hmmm...I never thought of Santa as a bestial gluttonous pedopheliac with pathological breaking and entering tendencies. Damn that fat man! And to think that I've been leaving milk and cookies out for him! Hmpf.

Dec 03, 2003 09:26 am Waldo, I think I'm going to put one of those screens on the chimney this year (the ones that keep birds from nesting in there) to keep that obese pervert out of my home!
Flame, See South Park, episode 614: the Death Camp of Tolerance (aka the Lemmiwinks episode) for a visual tutorial on the gerbil thing.
Oh, btw, so that this doens't seem like a total thread hijack: congrats on the new setup, coolo!

Dec 04, 2003 04:05 pm I forgot about that episode Tadpui. The thought of it just evoked a ragin bout of laughter that got even the kids riled up. I gotta find that episode and watch it again.
