I was half expecting a punch line after seeing that title, ya gotta admit, it sounds like a version of "a guy walks in to a bar...".

Nov 30, 2007 10:27 pm yeah, I have a feeling this is going to be a really screwy election; 'Anyone but Bush' is the motto of America right now, so nobody will contend it if anyone happens to pull a "recount" in their home state, lol

Nov 30, 2007 10:38 pm The only thing I think I will find interesting about this election is how much crap will be thrown at each of the candidates by the other candidates.
This should be a good year for the comedy crowd to gather huge amounts of new material.
And I can already see Hillary writing a screen play based on todays events. But in her version it will last for a week.

I voted once in a national election, in 1980. Since then, I grew up and realized that politics and elections are stupid.
Vote as you please as I sit back and watch you all make the wrong choices.
Nov 30, 2007 11:24 pm when you don't particularly like any candidate but definitely don't like one of them, you should be able to use your vote to take a vote away from that person.

Dec 01, 2007 06:56 am Politics and elections are great. People die for the right to have them.
It's the greed and corruption that turns them into embarassments.

Dec 01, 2007 01:42 pm I was waiting for that. The people who say non-voters have no right to complain must be reading a different copy of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights than the one I have on my desk.
The voters are the ones who elect the morons. Those who stay home on election day are the only ones with the right to complain.
The concept of elections is a noble one. The problem lies in the fact that people are the participants.
Any doubts about my misanthropy should be dissolved right there.
Dec 01, 2007 01:59 pm No, you have every right to complain, I just personally don't care, you had your chance to voice your opinion, you didn't do it, therefore, you really didn't participate by your own choice.
I don't say you have no right to complain, I just say you didn't say anything when the voting was done, you really shouldn't say anything when it doesn't come out your way.

Dec 01, 2007 04:43 pm I guess I can see the idea of the non voters. But my thought is as dB stated. Even if you don't believe in either candidate you can still make a difference. Look what happened here with Jesse. People laughed and said it would never happen. Well gee wiz it did. And why, because those who could have stopped it by voting against those that were goin to vote did not.
And it can happen in a prez race as well. If enough of the non voters were to simply vite for the lesser of the two evil's then it might change the outcome.
But I guess it is a pretty big might when it boils down.
I will still vote, if only to do as stated. Take a vote away from the idiot candidate. Go vote for the green party or Ralph Nader or something. I actually voted for Pat Paulson one year.
