I lived in a haunted house for a couple years when I was young...I'd rather forget a couple experiences I had. Ouiji and Tarot account for a couple of weird things as well. Most I can't call "ghost" stories really, but ewe...

I read Tarot very frequently for many years, as well as runestones. If I would have listened to the runestones on one single specific occassion my life's history would have been forever different, for the better. Runestones are different that many, not really future tellers or anything, more of a personal adviser...they advised me, I didn't listen, I went to jail and have a permanent felony on my record.

I don't know if this qualifies or not. The guitar player in a R&R group I'm in is really into that whole supernatrual thing. He plays all the sayonce (badly ms I'm sure) stuff, visits graveyards etc. So ok, one day after a recording session, I'm doing some mixin and I step out on the deck for a break and I feel this presence. Right accross the the table from me. So I'm thinkin; Do I talk out loud to it or just think to it? So, I decided to just think to it and I welcomed it and wished it a happy evening. Next day at rehersal I tell our gutiar player about the whole thing just razzin him. He tells me, Oh ya, I know, that was Harald a drummer that killed himself that I had met in a graveyard and I invited Harold to the recording session. I'm like, what the hell, did Harold get lost on the freeway for a day? Harold hasn't came back. Must not have liked the music.

good call with just thinkin' it.....based on simple physics and logic, i'd say "ghosts" wouldn't be able to detect vibrations in the air the way our ear would...of course, i'm no expert. but in order for anything to hear sound, they need something to detect it, right? which would mean a physical transducer of some sort.

wow, ya know, i just thought of that, and it makes ALOT of sense...ghosts can't hear! sound would go right through them the same as air. sound IS air pressure. haha i think i just debugged ghost's ability to hear!

i think u could apply the same theory to sight, although light don't travel through molecules, but they would still need a receptor/sense to receive the waves/particles....

yeah i was thinkin' that too...but light has the strange characteristic of having properties of both waves and particles...light travels though glass particles just fine.

where ya been hidin'? i havn't seen you here in a minute.

There was a grave yard, ya a grave yard across from a hill we used to sit on and watch the cars go by and do stuff. Ya, that stuff! Anyway, one of the friends we would sit with was the younger brother of this guy who was a great kind of folk rock type player. Never really went past the high school talent show type thing but he was incredible. Think Shawn Phillips meets the Almond Brothers sort of thing.

Anyway, as you can guess he passed away shortly after high school, tragic kind of thing. On certain nights when it was perfectly still you could hear him singing and playing from the grave yard. Now we were only maybe 30 yards away from the hill which he was buried on. Some of us would get brave and walk across the road and funny enough, the music got louder for a moment and then would stop. We would return to the hill and just sit and go "Woah". Sometimes it would start again, other times it wouldn't.

And just to verify, it would happen even if we were not doing stuff as well. Pretty weird if you ask me. But as with dB, there have been other odd things that have happened in my life as well. I'll even go as far as to state I believe I have an angel watching over me for a long time now. And the simple fact I believe she is an angel is the fact she was someone important in my younger life and she passed away at a very young age, 17 to be exact.

when i said "through molecules" i meant they dont use molecules to travel as sound waves do...well i guess u figured out what i was trying to say...i didnt have the net for a year thats why, but i posted something like 2 weeks ago, ive been busy tho....here is another one; If thought is retained in the "ghost" form, then if someone had a fear of the dark, then they would be a ghost that is afraid of the dark? lolololol (well if ghosts could see lol)

I have a few but this one I'll always remember.
I was about 3 or 4, I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. As I walked down the hall I saw a white figure that I assumed was my mother, I ran to her to hug her and went right through her. Needless to say it was a major mind twister, probably warped me for life.. and that is probably why I became a musician

not a ghost story per se, but a surreal, wierd experience...

About 5 or 6 months ago, I wake up in the middle of the night (maybe 2:30) in the morning, and there is a low rumbling outside my window and a light shining through my window. My bedroom in on the third story of a house in an urban area, and my bedroom window faces out to a backyard. I immediately hop out of bed to check it out and as soon as I do I'm overwhelmed by the feeling that I'm dead my spirit is moving and not my body. I don't panic, just think to myself, "oh snap, I guess I died. Oh well..." I then start feeling my body to test if I'm really alive, and all the while I'm still pretty groggy from sleeping. As I'm testing myself, the light goes out and the rumbling gets louder and moves away quickly from my window, moving farther away, but getting louder as it goes, until it starts to fade away. I look outside but don't see anything, and then go turn the lights on and trip off why I was so calm and unworried when I thought I was dead. I have no good explination of what happened that night except I made it all up in my head as I came out of my sleep. But it's really wierd.

Definitely wasn't a stereo, if anything it was more like a big dump truck kinda rumble. But theres no way it could be next to my window, because there's no place for a vehicle to be there (it's a backyard) and the direction the sound went, the vehicle would have had to drive though several neighbor yards, and then through a building to get to the street. Anyways...

kinda doubt it, but you never know...

I think more likely it was a black ops helicopter shining a light through my window and it got scared off when I woke up! (i'm kidding, in case anyone can't figure that out...)

i think i'm a believer, but I've never seen anything to make me believe.

My Grandfather died when my mother was fairly young, maybe 8 or 9, and she remembers waking up one night to see him sitting at the end of her bed telling her 'not to worry', and she went back to sleep. Next day, she awoke to find that he'd died late the previous night.

My old boss frequently claims that he drove into the desert one night on cocaine, got out of his car and collapsed. God came to him and said "if you stop doing drugs I'll let you live", to which he said "ok" and God shook his hand and said "deal". I'm not sure that I believe that one, but thats how he likes to demonstrate the existance of God to non believers. That guy didnt have much luck in the desert actually, he was also abducted by aliens there sometime after too...

Great thread guys!
