Cheers ALL of ye...it should be good!!

Jim/Noize - cheers guys - hopefully, we will play well! Dan, no bother...the good news (or bad for us if we DO play bad!!) is, the site will host the gig for 6 months after the event ;-) /// so it'll either be a blessin or a curse for me!!! (hopefully all will go fine and the 6 months wont be 6 month stretch from hell!!!)...

C Sanders, reckon you need a 1MB connection but I'll check for ya buddy.

Indeed, wait I cannot! Fun it will be...speaking like Yoda I am!!

Mine was 512k for a long time but they just upgraded me to 2.2 ... my exchange can handle 5mb tho. IT would be cool to have for sure!!

Hue - nice one buddy!! Hope it comes across well. I will confirm precisely when we start on this thread ASAP but from my time to you guys (at least on HRC post time) its -5 hours i.e. we are 5 hours ahead of you dudes....

How do I check this, how do you say, 'connection speed' ?

Is it down there next to the clock, by the task-bar ? The 'Local Area Connection' ?

That's a sweet tool! My connection speed is 374.4 with a cable modem.

I'll have to check my speed on the T-1 at work, as that's where I'll be when the big show airs.

Does anybody know what kind of software or browser plug-in will be required to view the show?

Check it out guys - if this works for ya now, it'll most likely work for ya for the show (though it may be a higher bit rate hence the need for 1MB broadband) but you can test the player...

Cheers guys

Thanks Coco!

Right now I'm listening to the Abdominal Snowmen...very interesting! It sounds like Coco meets Run DMC!! Scottish rap!!

Anyways, the player works fine for me, and there are no dropouts in the stream, so it looks like I'm good to go for the world wide debut of DMR!! WOOOOT!!!

The player still wont play anything in either IE or FireFox. I tried a couple of archived shows as well. Nothing, not a bloody thing.

It was very cool coco ! I remember thinking to myself how far entertainment has come to be able to enjoy a band 'live' from the other side of the world... that's just too friggin' cool !!!

... and yeah, y'a looked like you guys were having a blast !

Cheers db and Hue - much appreciated!!

And for all you dudes who missed it, its now online!! Ye can logon HERE:

www.nexusliveshow.com - select us from the list on the left and the player will pop up. I noticed it took a mighty long time to open on my PC but after leaving it "connected" with the player for a bit and right clicking INSIDE the actual player embedded in the page and doing stop / play it seemed to work!!

Strange I know but it is an 88MB file so its a big streaming puppy!! However, its recorded in top class sound (48khz 16bit) which is cool and overall, the video quality to my eyes is excellent!!!

I heard a few little bleepers but hell, it is live rock!!! So...enjoy!

Cheers

Hey Coco, I managed to check it yesterday. Real Cool stuff man...definately enjoyed it. I had no problems on my PC...actually started playing almost instantly. The Paul sounds great through the Marshall.

BTW, Your singer kinda reminds me of that Stiffler fella from American Pie ;-)

Hey Mike & OD - good to hear from ya guys and glad ye liked it.

I just got done downloading the stream and putting it on a DVD ... a lot easier to watch on TV !! However, I did notice a few rough spots but as I say, twas live rock!

With the further listening I have given it, I am now less happy with the mix itself. Makes the vocals sound a tad harsh as they are too loud in the mix. The bass is a bit low (if not too low) all over the shop and the rhythm guitar (acoustic) is practically non-existent when my guitar comes in....though that wont happen no more as I convinced our singer to go electric ;-) !!

Anyways, overall - not bad and a great experience and buzz playing the live gig online and doing the interviews afterwards etc though I would so love to have had a better mix that I could've worked something with, a live CD or something...ack well, next time ;-) !!!

Cheers again to ye all for the listen...its a chunk of time from all yer days for sure and indeed, a big badass file size for sure!!

Ta...

Coco.
