I have like, 500 boxes in my house, I was wondering if there is anything i can use them for in the studio BESIDES the obvious-storing stuff. Can I use it in a booth? build something? give me some ideas guys.

Aug 23, 2005 02:45 am Actually, I saw a guy on tv that built his entire bedroom out of cardboard. The bed. His covers, mattress, end tables the works.
Feeling ambitious? I'm sure you could build whatever you want.

Aug 23, 2005 06:13 am no, but you could stuff the boxes with things that do, pillows, quilts, etc...

Aug 23, 2005 11:29 am I put cardboard inside my walls in my band practice room. didn't seem to help much. I think the 3/4" pine did more to stop the sound than any of the cardboard did.
It was free, and worth a shot, but not worth it in the end.

Aug 29, 2005 05:23 pm You can use the boxes as a poor mans absorber. Put some insulation in the open end of the box. If you want you can tape some burlap over the opening so you don't have insulation coming out. As long as you have air space behind the insulation it will work as a wideband absorber. It's cheap sound treament and it works. It doesn't work as well as building one, but you'd be surprised at how well several of them can be.
