Dec 29, 2004 01:38 am cool tony, one of your best to date me thinks. :) Needs some bass guitar though. Like the varied guitars in it, changes things up nicely. You got a real nice on the mix to my ears.
Good one!

Dec 29, 2004 08:37 am Thanks, i think a cross of nirvana with a little american oais- and some black crows for good measure... with the break being sorta like that great acoustic break from Wings- band on the run....
i think paul mcartny was the best guy in wings....

Dec 29, 2004 10:02 am lyrics- (such as they are)........
I woke up this morning, a tired and dusty day
the candy man has come and washed all my dreams away
i find myself walking at dawn
drown all my thoughts and no more cares but
she is on my mind like she is, always
(story of a junkie with a monkey on his back)
she and i may never be, anything more than free
i wonder what shes hoping for
i wonder what she wants from me
when i walk the streets i see it all out there
the monkey clouds my reason every single daaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy! (that was tough...)
sunshine breaks the sky, i fall down and cry
wondering about the dreams that never came true
its a monkey and a Junkie, following me down
right on home to you
and i hope i make it through
guitars.... cook it on down now
gota junkie in my mind and a monkey on my back!

Dec 29, 2004 01:27 pm The beginning of the song reminds me of the Kinks kinda sound. I like the way you broke up the song (the acoustic guitar break and the jam at the end.) Cool stuff.

Dec 29, 2004 01:34 pm i think that the drums carry alot of the rockin weight. those took some time. amazing what you can do with a little time off.

Dec 29, 2004 08:47 pm I gotta say, so far I like this one best of your stuff Tony. Agree with Crash on the Kinks thing as well as the Nirvana fell at times.

Dec 30, 2004 09:23 am Thanks Noize- I just never know what people will dig. Ive gotten a bunch of good feedback on this though, i must say im quite pleased with myself!!
hahahhahaa
Thanks for listenin all!
Dec 30, 2004 02:25 pm Like other said, the Nirvana/Kinks similarities are pretty obvious, and I like the guitar tone you get on both the acoustic and electrics.
That melodic break at about the 2:00 mark is a really nice touch.
You might want to try pumping up the presence and low-end EQ on your vocal to give it a bit more punch...volume-wise, it's fine, but it seems a little frail from a tone standpoint.
Agree on the bass guitar addition...that would definitely help round the sound out.
Overall, I really liked it.
Dec 30, 2004 04:45 pm Tony, a top song my friend.
Hear the Nirvana tones coming thru and thats a good thing as Flame says. I like the intro tones, very nice guitar.
The song strucutre itself, good work with a nice little break as Thermocaster points out. Very cool little break from the heavier geetar to the acoustic which fits well.
Bass will pump it along to become a real BUTT WIGGLER!! yehaaaa!
Good work ma friend.
"GEEEEEEEEEETARRSSS" !! hehe
All the best
Coco.
Jan 10, 2005 10:23 pm The vocals also remind me a little of Bowie...I've always been a fan of his. Nice one tonyd.
I agree with Coco...very nice geeter...cookin' it on down!
Cheers,
BM:-)
