just got my 1.25 ghz G4 laptop, 15.2 inches, super drive, bluetooth, and airport, got it all just to record on the go, will probably replace my ome computer too. It was a referb that I got through the place I work, so I got a good discount.

my plan? gonna get a macally 100acb, an external port for internal hard drives and use all my father-in-laws junked out 2-20 gig hard drives that he has in his closet. he is an Network administrator so he has all the junk i need and desire. gonna use the external/thingymabob as my scratch disk, and then eventually get Logic pro and start having fun again, until I get Pro I will settle with Cubase.

I AM EXCITED!!!!

PS I figured that since this is gear that I am using to record I could post this here..... you choose oh great moderator.

You get custom avatars if you are a pro member, not for everybody. Otherwise, choose from the pool we have, I may just have to find some more to add.

the 15 inch PB g4's are the sickest looking laptops ever designed. While everyone else is upsizing the laptops they're making SICK compact ones.

Congrats!

Well, the G4 Powerbook I just got laid on me is not nearly as fancy as the one described at the top of this thread, but it still beats my dinosaurish beige G3, so I'd like to start using it... but in stages so as not to undergo too severe of withdrawal...

So anyway, I'm looking to find where I'm going to plug in the single plug (1/8"?) stereo jack I've got coming out of the back of my Yamaha SY77 (it goes through a 1/4" to 1/8" converter plug) that I previously plugged directly into the back of my G3 audio input. Come to find out, the early G4s simply did not have an audio in! OK, so I'm going to have to get some USB audio converter thing. I see Onkyo used to make one of these... Do they still? Then there's Edirol, but I'd like to find something a bit cheaper. As you might be able to tell, I don't need anything none too fancy - just something to plug in a stereo audio plug and have it convert into a USB that my computer will recognize as an audio signal and provide to my recording studio software....

Anybody?
