My labels first release is released!

Whew, finally, got in the compilation album that is going to serve as Paraphan's (my label) first release. Sunday School presents Electric Halo is a diverse album focusing on the San Francisco Bay Area underground hip hop scene, with a bit of experimental trip hop and livetronica thrown in for good measure. My group Vox Machina has one track on there and I mastered/remastered all of the tracks (my first attempt at mastering songs that weren't mine). Anyways, now the task comes to selling the album. Our website isn't updated yet, but will be soon. If anyone is interested in a copy, I'd be happy to sell one to you, but no pressure. The CD packaging is 4 color printing on everything and was professionally replicated. I'm selling them for $10 S&H included. I almost forgot, we have t-shirts and stickers too. When the website gets updated we should have some images of those too. Stickers are free and t-shirts which only come in XL and XXL for now, are $10 plus S&H. Email me if you are interested in any of these ([email protected]).

Oh, and thanks for the support throughout the journey so far. I've definitely learned a ton here and hopefully some have learned a bit from me as well. Step one in my 8,000 step plan to take over the world is complete.

dB, if this is too much of an advertising type plug, I apologize. I will not be offended if you delete/edit this post. Thanks again.

Thanks guys. I'm already starting to get some bites from stores willing to purchase some copies, or put it on consignment in the area. If anyone knows of any stores, local to them, that will purchase professionally done, independent label releases, especially hip hop, I'd be indebted if you would share that info.

Oh, and I'll let everyone know when the website gets updated.

So, we now have the website updated to reflect our current situation. Check out www.paraphan.com if you have a chance (though if you wait til Friday there's a chance we may be offline for a couple of days). We should be up at a couple of internet retailers by next week, including cdbaby and undergroundhiphop.com.

thanks again

Basically, I've been looking around for sites that sell CDs online (specifically hip hop) and choosing the ones I like and sending them an email letting them know that I have a record label that is releasing an album. I give them the website and let them listen to the audio if they're interested. If they're interested, they tell me what I need to send them. So far, all of the online stores are taking product on consignment, but heck, I want to get them out there however I can, so I'm down. Oh yeah, and I tend to like the ones that don't have a setup fee and are at least somewhat choosy. CD Baby is not, but they are pretty much the biggest one for indie artists and I got a coupon that waived the setup fee, so we went there too. I'm going to a Tower records store tomorrow to put some on consignment there. We're in a few stores, but sales are still slow, but I guess that's expected for now.

coolo, I know I am way late in getting to this post so apologies. I am bummed I missed the big event though. I am however really gald to hear you got it done and out there. I know how hard you worked for this. I for one will be visiting the site for sure and gettin me at least a couple copies of the CD. T-shirt too I am thinking, maybe a couple as I am sure Tuna will get into that and bragging about hearing your stuff before any body else up here.

I will definately make a couple of stops at the shops around here I know distribute indie, and hip hop and such. Now that I think of it, there is a small independant radio station in Minneapolis, KMOJ that plays a lot of hip hop and might be willig to pop it on. The DJ I am thinking of is always playing something new everyday. He would be glad to get bragging rights to something fresh from the west coast.

Again I am really friggin gald to hear you got it done.

Now to get me some of them bumper stickers to hang in the studio, and the car, and the garage, and the boyz room.

Oh, by the way I stopped by the website. Man you have been busy. It looks great.

Don't know what we could do, but if we think about it for a second, I'm sure we'll come up with something.

pixel, you're beats are usually cool, so yeah, I will drop you a line.

noize, and everyone else, thanks for looking out. I do appreciate it.
