Help with horn

I have had great luck with help on this forum before (Thanks!!!) so I am going to take another stab at getting a question answered...

I recently picked up a set of Cerwin Vega V252 cabinets. They are a double 15 setup with a piezo tweeter attached to a circular metal horn (spherical waveguide I think they call it). I am finding that the bass from these boxes is awesome, as the double 15s are crossed over very nicely internally to put out different frequencies. However, I am finding that the highs (1 Motorola Powerline piezo tweeter in each box) just can't keep up with all the bass.

Is it possible to replace the piezo with something else that will give me stronger high end? A compression driver? And if yes, the box is rated at 4ohms, would I use an 4/8/16 ohm compression driver?

I have also thought about adding another piezo to the cabinet (total of 2 in each cab). Will that "double up" the amount of "highs" I get from the box?

The double woofers in these cabinets sound great so I would hate to just scrap/ sell them, but I need stronger high end.

Thanks in advance for the help!!

i don't know anything about replacing 'horns'....but my first instinct is to simply use any graphic equalizer you can find....may not make the speakers better, but at least you can get the sound right......past that i don't have much to offer, sorry.

Replacing them with a horn would be just a waist of time. The piezo's are there just as a filler for your top boxes.

You can add more piezo's with no problem. As piezo's do not carry any ohm load. And they run on very low wattage.

Thanks as always for the help!

I will try adding another piezo to each cabinet in hopes of "boosting" the high end.

Would you connect them in parallel or in series?

Thanks!

I would suggest two in series, then the groups of the two in parallel.
