Planning on ordering the API A2D new from Sweetwater...I'm hesitant to commit to an $1800 investment through a retailer I haven't used before. Typically get all my gear through Musician's Friend or Zzounds...both of which don't carry API.
Anywhere you guys might recommend more highly?

Oct 13, 2009 03:39 pm It'd be a cold day in hell before I'd spend that kind of money over the internet.

Oct 13, 2009 04:13 pm I have had great dealings with them. They will assign you a sales guy to look after you. Brad Lyons has been taking care of me quite well. Here is his email if you want to contact him.

Oct 13, 2009 04:22 pm Thanks, I'll send something his way. I heard from a friend that Sweetwater is very good about customer satisfaction...glad to hear that someone else trustworthy agrees.

Oct 13, 2009 04:49 pm Yep, all good here. I purchased my J45 and my 454CE from SW. No problem at all, plus I got a SM57 for 30$ both times, and some of the online price knocked off, because I was dealing with my sales rep.
Do get a sales engineer, and they'll stay with you, so you have a single person to get with for new ideas, etc. Plus the price drop is nice too.
I also purchased some closeout tannoy monitors, my headphone amp, and some stands, etc. from them with no problem. Just call them up and get a rep, like mentioned.
My sales rep was talking to me about mics, and he said that he could send like 4 decent mics for me to try, and send back the ones that didn't work for me. Kinda like a test drive. I don't know if they do that all the time, but he kinda threw that one out there for me. hmmm, maybe i shouldn't say anything =).
I got a sales rep at first, but wasn't happy with the guy, so I switched to my current guy, who is a senior rep, and he's been great. ted hunter is his name.

Oct 13, 2009 08:24 pm Sweetwater is cool, I've ordered a couple times from them no problems. My 1st order was over $1500 when I bought my Vax.

Oct 15, 2009 02:19 pm I hooked up with a sales guy...he threw the first pitch at me...we'll see what happens.
Free Fed-Ex shipping and pay-pal payment option is a good start.
