Correction, Favre IS a Viking.
Aug 18, 2009 03:46 pm I am so stoked for this season all of a sudden...not sure how long he'll last or how good he'll play being older and kinda broken, but really, that kind of experience will be nice to have at that position.
Aug 18, 2009 04:43 pm Hey dB, I assume that you are from MN. Good for you guys. Favre should be an improvement over your other guys. Just keep your fingers crossed if any of the DE's or LB's from Green bay get near him... I think that a Green Bay player who takes Favre out goes to instant celebrity/hero status.
I love football, but I am from Cleveland. Enough said...

Aug 19, 2009 09:04 pm I as well am diggin the idea that he will be inducted into the hall of fame as a Viking. That is pleasure all by itself.
But time will tell. He has some good receiver's so if the coach can pull his head out long enough to let the man play football it should be a season to watch this year.

Aug 19, 2009 09:25 pm I highly doubt that he'll be inducted into the HoF as anything but a Packer. Usually they have a player sign a 1-day contract so they can retire in the jersey that they spent the majority of their career in. Unitas, Emmit Smith, Joe Montana...those are the few that come to mind that ended their career in a city other than where they had their glory years, but they retired in their true city anyways via the technical contract they sign on the day of their retirement.
Of course with Favre, there's no friggin telling when his actual retirement will come. There's another record for him to hold: most retirements by a single player.
I made the mistake of leaving the TV tuned to ESPN for about 6 hours yesterday and I don't even have a word to describe the numbness I feel towards Favre right now. Brainwashed doesn't even do the feeling justice. I feel like reciting:
"I love Favre
Favre is much better than Cats
I will go see him again and again..."
...Over and over until I keel over due to my brain turning to mush. For the love of all that is holy, WHY DO THEY HAVE TO GIVE THIS SO MUCH PRESS? If the president were shot yesterday, I would not have known it, but I would have known that Favre and his wife got on a plane in Hattiesburg MS that had a viking emblem on the tail.
The Chiefs play the Vikes on Friday night, but you wouldn't even know that our team was involved in this whole Favreapalooza. The Chiefs happen to be playing in a game where Favre is starting. At least Madden isn't commentating the game, oh jeezuz the thousands of times I'd hear Favre's whole name in that 3.5 hours would make me want to go jump out a window.
I can't even wish that ****** well anymore. His name and face have saturated, no SUPER-saturated, the sports press in the last 24 hours. I can't take it! Is there a hotline I can call? I'm having a Favre overdose! Aaaaaaaagh! I'm gonna jump!

Aug 26, 2009 12:17 pm Well at least the Chiefs held him to 1 of 4 in passing attempts in his preseason debut. that made me feel a lot better. 2 pressures and 1 knockdown from our new 3-4 defensive scheme against the Vikes' starting offensive line and new/old QB. I like it.
