and so I'm back.

Hello dB and Noize. Still a few people here I remember.

I haven't got any music yet. So just going to socialise until I do.

Cheers

Hello Tallchap. And my question is what DOES a scotsman wear under his kilt?

I haven't actually told that joke to anyone.

And I see dB has some women jokes. The shopping one is very funny.

Cheers Tallchap,

Difference between a Rolling Stone and a Scotsman...

Rolling Stone: "Hey you, get off of my cloud."

Scotsman: "Hey McCloud, get off of my ewe."

Ba-doom, etc.

Extreme LOL. THAT one I can tell.

What did Mick say when he caught Hugh Hefner doing Dennis Weaver?
'Hey Hugh, get off of McCloud!'

Ba-da-boom!

That's the best one, except only old farts like me who know who Dennis Weaver is will get it!

Welcome back, BM!

Indeed, a big hello from I and the last son still home here. Tuna has left the building as well for Army life. YOu can catch a few of the threads on that in Talking Smack, a recent one is a few days old.

Other then that still staying busy here. And still trying to find time to come out and visit. Maybe Tuna will get stationed somewhere out your way and that will give me a good excuse.

I've been trying to find a console for CS here as well. Not having much luck though as the one he is after is a bit rare to come across used.

So aside from the good jokes, how are things on your island paradise?

Oh, Colonel Sanders' mom? Okay. Finally put 2+ 2 together there.

Hi Mom!

Duel is my favorite Dennis Weaver movie.

Well hell Noize...we've been waiting at the airport everyday for must be near on 3 years! Lol.

I read your latest threads and checked out your photo section. If I remember correctly, Arie and Tuna are a similar age?

You must be pretty proud of Tuna. If he gets stationed at the American base in Christchurch - the gateway to Antarctica - that would be cool. Not much action there though - just freight I think. Although I think they are still "on call" (or whatever the military equivalent is).

I think Arie mentioned something about the console. At the moment he and some friends are converting a garage into a studio. They're having a whale of a time.

Arie is flatting in Christchurch city with a couple of friends, working for 'the man' doing electrical work, paying taxes and trying to finish his thesis for his degree from SAE. Written a few good songs. Still recording. Then he's heading overseas to try and work in the music industry.

We have just had family here from Germany. Who have stopped in San Fransisco on route home. Blended family of 9.

Dairy farming reached its zenith last season and now world prices are bottoming out. Elections in a couple of weeks. Fuel prices coming back. Interest rates coming down.

The suns out today. Can't ask for too much more.

Cheers
MA

Indeed, I just found out yesterday they do have a PM base there so if he doesn't end up in Germany as they were thinking he could end up there. That would as I said give me a great excuse to come out.

By the way, I see you've met Herb. He seems a bit slow at times, but he really ins't. :-)

But yes, proud I am. It was really great to see him finally turn his life around after all the trouble. But, life goes on.

I think Tuna is a year younger if memory serves me, which many times it doesn't. He turns 19 this coming Jan..

On the Dennis thing, yep interesting actor for sure. What ever happened to him these days??

On the fuel prices. Here we haven't seen them this low in a couple of years. Which I'm sure is related to the Presidential election coming next week. So as soon as that is over all hell will break loose again and it'll jump right back up.

I think Dennis Weaver died. I think I saw that movie but I remember him more as the father of 'Gentle Bens' little boy. I think he played a vet in the everglades or something. The opening sequence included him racing through swamp in a hovercraft kind of thing.

Herb I remember from before I moved on from HRC. So when he stopped to say hi I thought he remembered me. I was pretty impressed about that. Lol.

You're correct about their ages. Arie has been 19 for 1/2 a year. WOW!

Hilarious, I can't believe you knew that one! (Lipstick joke).

I have had some of the noobs here miss the point and assume I was some kind of goth/emo (actually, back in "hair metal" days I did wear makeup, but never lipstick!).

Good to see you back.

Yep, Dennis is dead it appears. But good lord, Gentle Ben.

The boat is simply called an Air Boat, I am assuming that is because it is propelled by the Air/Wind from the propeller blade and they steer it with a simple stick that moves the fins back and forth. They are a blast to drive though and can get you in a lot of places a regular boat won't get to.

TC, now I'm having trouble loosing the image of you dressed in all black and wearing black eyeliner. With dyed pitch black hair of coarse.

But indeed, I did recall Arie posting on his 19th B-day a while back. Of coarse it was later last night, or early this morning I guess.

I loved Gentle Ben, Noize. I wanted to get me a bear, and what I would have given to ride that Airboat. It all seemed so exciting and adventurous.

Noize: don't forget the pointy guitars!

unfortunately not for me, i don't know if you remember, but the studio i was workin' out of had a cd duplication/print shop. well we had a client like the studio setup so much, he bought the whole thing! it was an offer the owner couldn't refuse (%85 of our business came from the print/dupe side anyway). so he came down (the client lives several hundred miles away) and packed it up, paid for me to come up and hook everything up ('twas a sad week for me).

so i became wyd, print/dupe guy, and only got a few audio gigs doing mastering at home (not so much audio manipulation but a few fades, converting records to cd's, re-arranging songs and 1 forensic case! (a most interesting gig, i think i could dig up the thread on that one).

i have done a 3 producer type gigs
where the client paid for a nice studio downtown and i got an engineer to push buttons and do most of the grunt work, DEFINATELY fun and great for learning.

so last week i moved closer to down town (i was about 45 mins south, now i'm like 10, if traffic is good....thing is this area is COMPLETELY saturated with guys like me LOL! market is kinda dry. it sucks, but it'll pass.

i haven't been on here much lately at all, as i haven't had my computer hooked up in about a month now! i'm on a roomies right now even, but i'm gettin' settled into my new environment now and intend to be back alot more. which is kinda why i'm babbling on so much now lol

anyway, i'll read up on your other threads, so ya don't gotta repeat yourself.

I had a feeling from the early days when Colonel Sanders first looked like he would be pursuing this course as a career, that it wouldn't be easy.

I think its good to hear about the kinds of things that can happen mixed with stories like going to study etc. Creates a bit of balance.

But at the end of the day its about managing the obstacles and perserverence. Obstacles are good. They force you to reveal yourself.

Keep going Wyd.

TC I was trying to make a joke out of:

Q: What does a scotsman wear under his kilt?

TC: On a good day, lipstick.

TC: I wore makeup but never lipstick.

OLE!

Pfft! I've got to get better at telling jokes ):
