Hi guys,

I'm really into getting my home recordings up a notch so am upgrading things as i go. Next up is the drums.

I currently record with a Zoom RhythmTrak-123 - it has just about 1 decent kit!

However, I am getting a house with my drummer who owns an electronic kit.. its a roland but i dont know what one. It can't be too new though. But aye, I want to use drum samples to get the best sounds but dont have a clue what to use.. some people have mentioned BFD, but that it can be hard to set up with you needing to do your own compression etc.. though is this a good thing?

Can anyone recommend any other plugins/software?

I use steinberg neundo to record.

Cheers!

I would say currently, Superior Drum 2 is the best out there. If budget is a concern EZDrummer would be next on my list.

The best I've heard that come in here use Drumagog with the RockDrums samples.

Mainly because those are the ones that I had no idea the drums weren't the 'real' drums...

BIAS ALERT: I actually did a little post-pro on Rock Drums II... Mostly because I was so impressed with Rock Drums I. Still, when you put Drumagog up against the rest, it seems consistently the best (IMO/E, YMMV, etc., etc.).

I love me some drumagog and actually prefer some of the user created samples (Andy Sneap, Pipeline Audio) but have never used them as a 100% replacement. I use them to fix poorly tuned drums.

Addictive Drums + FL Studio 8 and higher works well, or with any sequencer...
