Feb 27, 2008 03:09 pm How about free? Free is always good when starting out. Check out Reaper or Krystal. There are a couple other as well.

Feb 27, 2008 03:13 pm I would try the freeware solutions as well. I personally use Adobe Audition and like it rather well, I think it is $300.

Feb 27, 2008 05:24 pm Yeah the freebies are a great place for beginners. Kristal is especially beginner-friendly. Audacity is another good freebie multitracking app.
Plus whenever you buy an interface it'll probably come bundled with either Cubase LE or Ableton Live Lite. Neither are best-in-class but either will get the job done, especially for a beginner.

Feb 28, 2008 03:26 pm My audio interface came bundled with Cubase LE, Sonar LE, Wavelab lite, and some other programs. I used Cubase LE a lot and really liked it so later I upgraded to SX3.
