Yeah, I have a small one, though, my neighbors all have these big huge blowers (compensating I am sure:-). Mine handles 95% of the snows each year...that other 5% is a real hassle though. One of these days I am going to invest in a good one.

Ya, just did mine a second time now to clear the 2 more inches that fell since I did it earlier. Just before dB did is actually.

But on the snow plow coming through. I have not seen ours come through yet. So i will be out in the morning digging the **** off that he tossed on. And our plow driver, same one for 6 years has a habit of going as fast as he can so he can toss snow 25 feet up my driveway. He knows it pisses me off. Funny thing is I know several of the city guys he works with and one is willing top cart a truck load of snow to his house and dump it in his driveway for fun. I have to pull the lever though so that way he wont be to blame. :-)

But ya, I feel better about it being cold now that there is snow on the ground. And I'm with dB, I still shovel some but prefer to use my little Sears 6 horse job. Not real big but gets it done fine.

My out-of-state friends all seem to think that because I'm in Colorado, I have snow up to my hairline every winter. I'm in a desert valley and it hardly snows at all. Twenty miles away on the Grand Mesa (the world's largest flat top mountain) it's a different story altogether.

36 degrees with drizzle at the moment.

Nice Herb, just rub it in why don't ya!!!!

Isn't it funny though how just 20 miles makes a big difference? I know when we used to run to CO to ski in the 70's when we would bring a first timer they would be all bummed out looking because there was never any snow in the low lands. Then once we start getting into the mountains they freak out.

Its still kinda drizzling tiny little snow bits here. About a 1/2" on the driveway now, and still no plow through here yet. He's waiting for me to go to bed and then he'll come driving through like a maniac.

I personally think he stops and shoves it up the driveway on purpose.

Whoo-ee,

As you may know, I'm in northern MI. My drummer friend and I just moved my brother 50 miles yesterday. Two trips with a 14ft uhaul. In between trips it started snowing, and didn't stop. We were pushing through 8 - 10 inches of snow on some parts of the road.

We got done ~11:00pm, after driving over 200 miles for the day, plus moving stuff.

This morning I've got 10 + inches throughout my yard, with 1.5ft in places.

We got a big snowblower for last season, and man, is it great.

All we got was an inch, and that's currently melting . heh No shoveling for me .

Yeah, pjk... when I lived up there in Gaylord, the season average was around 150"-200" inches . The 'snow-belt' of Michigan, pfft . Good thing y'as got that blower !

It is still snowing like crazy here. You guys gotta wish me luck 'cause I'm suppose to fly out of here at 11 pm. Anyhow, I'm offline for 2 weeks so I'll catch you guys when I get back.

Here's what I'm up against.

Ya, we didn't get as much as BH for sure. And probably not as much as pjk either. And as usual the snow plow didn't come though my neighborhood until about 4:00am.

I blew the last couple inches off this morning before running errands. But all the people in the country that have never driven in snow must come here to learn. Even today with clear roads they are driving like 5 mph in a 50mph area with no snow on the road at all.

i haven't been able to drive in any decent amount of snow since starting grad school in VA. I hope my little corner of Montana doesn't disappoint this year for snowfall.

I spent four hours last night stuck driving home from an interview at a place that is 2 hours away...got so bad I actually had to pee into an empty coke bottle. Gross, thank god I was accurate.

All that cuz of like 3 inches of snow...I thought us northerners were tougher than this...

I wonder if there's ever "prison justice"? e.g. prisoners find out somebody killed somebody else for no reason, so they off him?

that grad student probably already was having a rough go of it. =/

Sure, remember that goofball in Milwaukee that killed loads of people, he got wacked pretty quickly, his name is escaping me.

That sort of justice is very common for child abusers/molesters in the joint...the lowest of the low on the prison hierarchy.

EDIT: Jeffrey Dahmer was that goofball.

Ya, while dB was driving home I was driving what should have been a 45 minute trip to my sister in laws to pick up her dog to dog sit. It took 2 1/2 hours to make the trip. I don't get it at all. Don't move here if ya can't drive in snow!

But it stayed snowing for awhile last night. More tomorrow and then both Saturday and Sunday here I guess.

Getting me in the mood to play Santa for the kiddies on Saturday with all the snow.

We're getting our first substantial snowfall of the season here in KC. I didn't even expect it but a couple of inches has already fallen. I took a back road to work after lunch and holy cow, there were 3 vehicles stuck in the ditches. In 2" of snow! You'd think it'd never snowed in KC before with the way these idiots drive.

We got about 5 inches yesterday here in Baltimore; and people are driving like loonies here too. I suppose it's a self fulfilling prophecy- they think, "it's snowing, Im going to get into an accident" and they get nervous and cause it themselves. Retarded retards I tell ya.

We are supposed to have another 8-10 inches by Monday...and last night my snow blower decided not to recoil the starter pull thingy...

This is the most snow we have had this early in the season in 11 years I heard today. I knew we had a bad year coming soon, we have had it too easy the last few.

WooHoo, I had my wife bring the snow blower into our mudroom to thaw out...I called and asked her to go out there now and pull on it and it zipped right back in.

WHEW! No recoiling, just ice jamming it up.

Ha! I bet it scared the heck out of her !

=0

I ran snowblower twice in 2 days, both for 6 - 12 inches in some spots.

Had the 2 snowmobiles out and both are running nice. I'm picking up my new(ish) one, hopefully this weekend will be a sledding good time.

Haha, yeah, she did gasp a little on the phone, it was kinda funny.

Not sure what she gasped at, the fact it zipped back in and surprised her or the fact I was right and it just needed to thaw ice in there after h her dad said I'd have to take it apart and recoil it and all that.

If audio engineering teaches you one thing, it is to start with the simple stuff...jiggle the cables...

Few types of people bug me more than the person that jumps right to worst case scenario.

Ya, its suppose to start snowing again some time Saturday and keep going through Sunday or later. I think I'm gonna need a bigger snowblower gas can as mine is a 2 cylce and I gotta mix gas. But Tuna has been being a trooper and shoveling the snow off before I get home.

But ya, like dB said. We have not had thins kind of snow this early in at least 11 years. Tuna was like 1 when the Great Minnesota Halloween blizzard hit.
