"But it will not exactly be a reunion of the classic lineup famed for such hits as "Panama" and "Runnin' with the Devil," because bassist Michael Anthony has been replaced by lead guitarist Eddie Van Halen's 16-year-old son, Wolfgang."

Yeah, it'll be tough pedalling those 8th notes...I hope Wolfgang is up to it...

Oh, I didn't see that part. Hehe.. Wolfgang? He'll be handy to have around when one of them falls and breaks a hip.

Well this concert is not on my list for a couple of reasons. I have seen them before with DLR (Women and Children First tour) and they were all drunk at the time. It sucked.

Anthony's backing vox were such a huge part of their overall sound that I'm not sure they can pull it off without him.

Sometimes it's better to let sleeping dogs lie and I think this is a perfect example.

Must be the money. Although EVH has his line of amps now and his limited edition replica guitar so I wouldn't think he was hurting for cash. DLR prolly needs some extra cash though.

The wife and I are thinking about going to see them when they are in our area in Nov. Good or bad gotta check them off the list. :) Saw Aerosmith last month and they were killer.

Yeah, I didn't consider Anthony's backing vox, but BH is right, that was a big part of the sound...and, as simple as his bass part usually were, it was still cool.

GnR? Who cares, I hope Axl never finds success or happiness again...what a loser...that guy needs some help.

Olddog, I have seen Aerosmith many times, damn, they always put on a great show!

Yep, Aerosmith 2x for me. Stellar both times.

Saw Kiss a few years ago, fell asleep during their 'new' songs (like 6 of them in the middle).

I passed on them when they were in that casino up in UP.

Even had free tickets =).

I saw VH twice. Once in 1978 as a completely unheard of band supporting Black Sabbath on the 'Never say die' tour. They were unbelievable. This was around the time VH1 came out. Nobody had seen/heard anything like it (at least in England). Black Sabbath fans are not known for their love of support acts, but VH were completely embraced.

Second time was at Donnington for the 1984 tour. Sun setting behind the stage, the lighting system finally making a difference (and adding sparkle...)..
Fantastic.

BH is right on Michael Anthony being a HUGE part of the sound, both with the bass lines, and with his vocals.

I still get chills when I hear that dropped D at the beginning of DOA.

Diamond Dave might used to be the big rock star that people aspired to be. Now he's just a parody of himself.
