which would be better to buy a Alesis iO | 26
or a Focusrite Saffire Pro 26i/o/ or a firepod.

someone was having problems with the alesis... the saffire and firepod both use the more standard BeBoB firewire platform...

I'd probably go with the saffire as it's 192khz.

i second the focusrite, it's quite a step up in quality (and i'm sure price) then the alesis....

firepod is a happy middle...

lol can you tell i'm not too fond of alesis?

The focusrite saffire pro is not out yet but i did see it pre-order at a site to be named later for about $700. I think that's a great deal for what it advertises as features. Wish I knew when it was coming out and if it's ever been reviewed.

bbbitter, I get new releases from focusrite all the time. I will let you know when I get a release notice on it. I have not seen a review of it either as of yet so I will watch for that as well.

This is all there is so far.

Depends on the software you are using I guess. Some have good internal mixers and some dont. You would want software that can be automated in the software mixer. As well I believe the Saffire will have a good software mixer of its own. I am not sure if it will be automatable though as most audio interface mixers are not.

The Mackie Onyx is a nice mixer, don't get me wrong, but it and the Saffire are not the same thing. You're trying to compare apples to oranges there. The Saffire is a really nice, all-in-one solution for a "soloist" recording interface. The Mackie would be for a "band" solution, without any bells or whistles (minimal software, minimal plug-ins). Don't forget, the Mackie does NOT come with the firewire interface - that's an additional $400 "option"...

I have been recording with a Firepod for over a year now, and I have absolutely no problems nor concerns with it. Any of the songs I have on this site were recorded with a Firepod. Works for me.

Yep, 2k20 has some issues me thinks.

And there is a button on the left hand side of your keyboard, third from the bottom. It says something like this.

Caps
Lock

Hit that baby one time and you'll be good.

In case you did no know it, your typing in all caps on the internet is like yelling.
