There were a couple threads recently regarding retirement, investment and such...I wanted to share something after the disaclaimer of me saying I am no finance expert and can not be held responsible for anyone's loss of money...but...
I mentioned a compnay called AdZone (ADZR) that trades on the OTC...this company started as a internet advertisement tracking service, then created a technology called "NetGet" which tracks communications online of known and suspected terrorists scanning communication, binary files such as images and such things looking for trouble.
Now, their latest tool, called "OPPS" )Online Predator Profiling System) was recently purchased by a non-profit call Web Wise Kids which is a program that targets kids and parents educating them on wise and safe use of the internet. For more info on this group visit www.wiredwithwisdom.org/
Add to that the rising media coverage of places like MySpace, Friendster and the like, and the fact kids are stupid, making these breeding grounds for child predators adds to the interest in products like OPPS, which profiles predators and their behavior, ads them to a global knowledgebase and can be shares across the globe with police, web sites like MySpace, orgs like Web Wise Kids, etc, all sharing this information, can seriously help make the world a better place.
The local news had a spot about MySpace last night, which my wife had never heard about, so I took her there, we VERY quickly found the teenage daughters of a couple of her friends with names, locations, high school names and some things that they may not want us to tell their parents...my wife was stunned with how easy we got all that...
It is rumored that this issue is going to be covered on Dateline tonight, which is a possible plug for OPPS, it's also known that ADZR is getting a globally known spokeperson which will be announced soon...while I don't know who it is, the name Oprah Winfrey has been tossed around a lot...
They have, in the past announced department of defense contracts, just announced the $50 million a year WWK contract and gotten a strong endorsement from them as well.
Right at this very moment the stock is trading for $.157 a share...if you are considering a long term investment, this is a cheap stock for something I have LONG believed will be a huge money maker...it may be worth investing in and just forgetting about for a few years...this is growing, and necessary technology of which they are in the ground floor of...I see the stock probably dropping back into single digits over the next few days until they get some more announcements out, including the spokeperson...I personally am averaged in around .06 a share and plan to buy more if it hits singles again.
Just some friendly info hoping maybe we can all make money and help make the world a safer place.

Feb 03, 2006 07:38 pm Well, for the record, ADZR closed at $.181 and at or close to it's high of day and almost 4 times what it has sat at over the last many weeks/months...the online predator issue is getting loads of coverage all over the news this weekend including local broadcasts and national shows like Dateline.

One of the things I've observed is that parents need to pay more attention ... literally... it's not a "get to know these signs on adolescent subsance abuse brochure" which america seems so fond of but actually having a clue as to what people around you and your children actually do and to realize that there is nothing you can do to protect your family that doesn't involve active effort... it amaizes me how parents can be supprised by the things they did but don't remember when they were the same age...
A Bachelors Basic Parenting Facts:
#1 there is no reason for a kid to need to have their computer in their room
#2 The screen should be facing a doorway which should always be open.
#3 if your wealthy there is a 10% chance your kids don't do drugs by the time they leave highschool
#4 if your poor then theres a 30% chance your kids don't drink.
#5 my graduating clss (1997) had 2 people who didn't smoke.
#6 you won't find out about most of your kids run in's with the police. (Westerville OH PD held me at gunpoint on my 17th birthday :) (parkinglot argument between my friends and another group - we were all armed ... they asked if were were 18 we said "no" so they told us to leave... I now have an inside birthday joke about red and blue flashing party lights :) )
#7 Some of your kids teachers are having sex with their students. My school had 3.

#1 Just because someone is a lawyer or a doctor doesn't mean they know what they're talking about... I've run into this soooo many times ...especially with lawyers... "What do you call somewone who graduated last in their doctorial class? Answer: Doctor" .... I also know one lawyer who failed the bar three times.

One hour into the trading day ADZR is up over 25%...they picked a great spokes person...it's no Oprah Winfrey, but a huge person in predator law lobbying.
zek, great list, I agree 100% with what you are saying, parents need to be aware...actually, everybody that was at my house for UFC 57 on Saturday (some great fights) has kids and that very subject was a topic of conversation.

Feb 06, 2006 02:32 pm I am not sure how long I am either at this moment, but yes looking at the full pic, yeah, it's a lot, they have bought a lot and sold a lot, the company also has a very low float and isn't getting diluted the way so many pennies do to try to raise money...they have been very smart about the way they handle their offerings.

Feb 08, 2006 12:56 pm acko.ob is something I'll look into too... the the new well will start at 30 barrels a day and decline... it might get them somewhere to invest in a new wells... or more old ones so they could increase volume.... generally as the wells age the cost per barrel for extraction increases and the ammount that _can_ be extracted at a time decreases. If they try steam injection to increase output I'd run away.
chmd.ob started as a frozen drink vender that failed, changed to a debt relief company that failed, and is now into billboards... all that since 2002!!! I think they're a bunch of get rich quick scheamers...
fbvg.pk is a pink sheet... they may do ok but I don't trust .pk stocks especially since their new website sucks. :)

Feb 08, 2006 03:46 pm Mark Lunsford, (father of Jessica Lunsford, the little girl that was abducted and killed in Florida also helped lobby for predator laws which are now known as "Jessica's Law") has recently been selected as a national spokes person for the AdZone OPPS predator profiling system.
He will be appearing on Bill O'Reilly tonight...could be some nice plugs for OPPS and AdZone coming from that...I suspect, with as much as Mr. Munsford is loved by the media, people like Mr. O'Reilly, Oprah Winfrey and others, media coverage of the OPPS product will increase substantially...

I'm only playing with about $3500 in my entire portfolio and I try to stay diversified so I may only be able to develop $300 to $600 of purchasing power. I hate taking too much of a loss in one stock to get into something unless its relatively definate. It sounds like ADZR should light up in the next few days though, if not maybe it'll breakout next week. Seems like the pennies have a delayed reactions sometimes. Looks like their fairly low float too. Fortunately I was able to get $200 worth of ADZR today thus far.

my account is in the $1200 range which makes diviersification difficult but I try to keep atleast two stock now.

I invested into this company ticker PMTI - they recently developed and are supposed to bring to market a do-it-yourself home lazer epidermal resurfacing unit that will work on acne, CELLULITE (awsome), and other various skin conditions. I figure now these Brittney clones can get a toaster tan in 3o sec. or less. HAHAH. This shitty stock has been falling since the day I bought it, unfortunately I have most my $$ wrapped up in it right. Watch, the day I off it it'll go up 35%. So I figure I better ride it out. Looks like ADZR is lame today.
Feb 09, 2006 10:10 am Yeah, everybody was had their share of loosers if they have traded for any length of time...it's the nature of the beast. I don't look for short term trades anymore, I used to do that, but that's too fast and too risky...I tend to look ahead more for longer term...another one I still have loads of is QBID...it's a gay and lesbian tv network...it's down now, but over time, you see what they are doing, it'll come around, society is forcing it to, they are starting in the right place and the right time...and it's dirt cheap you can pick up hundreds of thousands of shares for nothing...
it's not necessarily about whats lame "today" is trends, is it moving up overall, over the last couple weeks ADZR has been on a steady 3 steps up 2 steps back trend, so it's always moving ahead...

Feb 10, 2006 05:32 am DB, I'm trying to do a little research on environmental and/or utility companies that are becoming involved in China's environmental clean up. Seems like a potentially lucrative avenue for investment and trades since 7 out of 10 of the worlds worst polluted metropolises are there, not to mention, the 2008 Olympics are in Beijing and a rush to clean up will be starting any minute! Seen a few stocks but none that looked too promising. Hopefully I'll be able to find time in the future to become a bit more educated on stock research methods.

I placed orders this morning for GBIW and MMXT... can't afford TXCC until ADZR does something... or the QBID manages to sell... been on an indefinate sell for the past week :P
Feb 15, 2006 09:11 am Yeahk, I got my QBID on a sell at .0002 for a few days, I'm not in a rush really, it'll sell eventually...then I'll buy again at .0001 and do the same thing...usually it happens quicker than this, but whatever.
I have also been told by ADZR's pr firm, while they can't discuss exactly which deptartment have it, 3,500 licenses have been sold for OPPS, which tells me there will be some PR's regarding that at some point in the near future...thats a lot...pretty damn quickly too...
I've said from the beginning ADZR isn't an overnight thing...patience is a virtue :-)

Feb 21, 2006 01:54 pm well progress for my portfolio today... sold my GBIW.OB at .38 (bought at .25) and am trying to sell MMXT.OB at .02 (bought at .013)...might go down to .018... if not I'll try tomarrow... and I dumped QBID.PK back at .0001... not liquid enough... at a loss of $18 for commission. So I'm up a total of $250 so far... looks like I'll be spending some time rumaging though Form 4's tonight...
