OK! So I Just Mixed my bands song called "Luha" (Means Cry in English) and no we're not emo. so there.. i got everything good except my bass drum and snaredrum is so "not there" so i go to waves and i really dunno what i did but i made the bass drum really thick and the snare drum full.. so i said ! OMG ! GOOD JOB FRED! ... so i mixed it down with a big arse smile on my face.. then i listen to it while lying on my bed enjoying it.. then i hear the vocals.. OMFG TOO MUCH REVERB! and its a little bit behind the mix! then i quickly stand up and go back to my pc.. and go open audition again.. but NOOOOOOOOO some sick error pops up saying something about pcm wav thing.. OMG i cant open it.. @_@ so im screwed waaah!! :(

Jan 25, 2006 10:10 am Ouch, that really bites. Hopefully you can get it back.
Maybe I should start backing up the raw tracks before i start working on them.
Jan 25, 2006 10:15 am no problem, just pull out a back up and reimport the track...you do have backups right? :-)
I bet you will from now on...
Does audition store each track as a separate wav file or as a bundle? Maybe you could repair that wav file (if it staores it as such) in a wav editor like Audacity or something...if they will open it.

Jan 25, 2006 10:28 am I believe AA does store it as individual tracks. Im not sure I totally understand your problem, but in AA, I rarely every use the "Edit" page which it seems liek you use unless it is for EQ. Usually, Ill use the "FX" button on the multitrack page for my effects. I can chain effects in any order I want, and I can change the parameters of the EQ, compression, or other effects right on the page while listening to the track soloed or with the rest of the song. This way, you still have all the raw tracks right there if you want to take off all the effects, simply hit remove in the properties page.
Josh
Edit: you can also adjust the mix of the dry track versus the wet track with automation.

Jan 25, 2006 10:45 am AA does store all the raw tracks as WAV (among other formats). However, it also stores a native AA SES (session) file which holds all the mixing info such as panning, volumes, fx etc. If this is the file that is messed up then this could be a problem. Importing the WAV files again will require you to do the mixing again.

Jan 25, 2006 05:15 pm I feel your pain, Fedzs. I had a couple of situations with my BR-532 where I was 99% done on a song, and then I'd get an error message, and all would be lost. So now I'm on a PC - backup/backup/backup..........
That sucks that you lost your stuff, man. Not a nice feeling.
Sorry, dB-Wan. I said, "sucks."
Jan 25, 2006 05:43 pm that qualifies as officially sucking...
you are excused young jedi.

Jan 25, 2006 07:57 pm Beerhunter is correct.. the SES file is "FOOKED" so all the fx's and presets are lost on that song. HA HA HA! i still have the mixdown mp3 file.. il try to upload it so u guys can hear it..
EDIT : there i uploaded it already.. its gonna be in the Home Recording Forum..
