Sonar 2XL Midi issue

Guys,
Wondered if you could help me please. I'm using Sonar 2XL with a Midi Keyboard and although everything seems to be working well when I record midi it shifts itself on the timeline.

For example, I might play some base notes at 12:01:01 bars but when I stop recording it appears at 07:05:08 bars.

Has anyone come accross this before?

Cheers meantime,
Stevie

What midi interface are you using, and what driver are you using in it? What software are you recording in? What kind of computer are you using (PIII 800, PIV 2.8G, etc.)

Do you have Sonar 2 patches to Sonar 2.2? the free version 2.2 upgrade has lots of fixes...I'd go get that update first.

I'm using a Audiphile 2496 / Latest Drivers / Sonar 2XL / AMD 2600+ / 150Gb HD / 512mb RAM.

Anything else you need to know?

Update to 2.2, loads of fixes, are you using the WDM or ASIO drivers? What is your matency being reported as in Sonar audio control panel?

"matency"... isn't that the noticeable time difference between a couple's ability to be ready to go somewhere in a hurry ?

I think dB meant latency, stephie .

Sorry Dan, I could not resist . 8 p Great typo !

Stephie, you need to make sure in the recording setup that you dont have a punch time set or anything of that nature. I know it sounds odd but it can happen and not even be noticed.

As dB stated though you should go get the 2.2 update. It had several midi fixes as well as other stuff.

You might also look at if you have that particular time selected for looping or anything of that nature as that can also cause a similar problem.
