Hey guys...Im in a little of a delehma...

I have 2 microphones I need plugged into the input of my computer's 'mic' jack. (Ive jimmied it so I had one in the mic jack and one in the 'line in' when I had a pre-amp), anyhow...

What would be the best way of converting 2 1/4'' cable connectors (you know, the guitar cable connector ends) to the 2.5mm headphone jacks, as so I can put it into my PC?....is there an easier way about doing this, and would you do it a different way? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again!

Well I think your really going to need a small mixer or pre-amp with 2 mic inputs then into the line-in on the soundcard. Trying to connect 2 microphones directly to the computer isn't likely to work very well. The line-in won't amplify a mic's signal enough to use in most cases and the mic input is mono so you wouldn't get a very good sound trying to run both mic's into it most likely.

There are stereo 1/4" phone plug to stereo mini plug available at stores like Radio Shack and other electronics stores, so you could try it.

If you've got a tape deck with mic inputs, use that as your pre-amp until you can afford a "real" one...

Behringer mixer from Musician's friend for $29.99. Gives you EQing and balancing control, and you'll never have to fight with inputs again.
