WOW. today i was introduced to the second year of my music technology A level. i'm so excited about it! AHHHCANTWAITTILLSEPTEMBER!

so to start with, i'm given access to the bigger college studio, where there is a Digi 001 setup, running through a Behringer MX3282A desk. the desk takes inputs from 3 different rooms in the college and sends to tannoy reveal monitors. this will also be my first chance to use some outboard gear like compressers and reverbs. i was extremely pleased that i was able to sit down at the desk today knowing how to use it straight from the off - mostly thanks to this forum!

and the course itself - i have to record a cover of a song using 24 tracks, produce some music for a film, make a karaoke track in midi and add vocals to it, and do 2 midi original compositions.

I CANT WAIT!!

wow, that covers the bases pretty well, i've never made a karaoke track before, but when i was in music school, we had to trascribe songs, defanetely good learning experiance. i'd like to try scoring aswell someday...

cheers

scoring is a lot of fun...but it really is a whole different thing than just writing a song...it's a whole different way to look at music...

ahh yes, we have to score our compositions in sibelius too, which is always my downfall because i'm not too well read on my music theory...

however i'm planning to work through this
musictheory.halifax.ns.ca/lessons.html
over summer, and hopefully i'll be in a better position to score when i go back to college.
