1)I compose tunes and forget them the next morning.Sometimes when am idle I decide that to utilize the time I should compose but nothing comes.They come when am in awkward situation to record like travelling etc.
2)Some guy here thought he had produced the best song on the planet but sold poorly but the one he produced by the way sold alot. whats the logic for producing a hit

May 19, 2005 02:14 pm When I was a graphic artist I use to have this problem all the time. Ideas always came at night when I was relaxed. I use to keep a pad and paper on my nightstand so I could jot ideas down. Often only a couple or words were required to remind me of what I was thinking.
May 19, 2005 02:30 pm i have a voice memo plug-in unit for my ipod. it's the best thing ever for remembering stuff. i used to just send myself voice memos through my cell phone, but i'd always end up erasing those before i got around to working on them. this solves everything.
but if you dont have an ipod, i would maybe pick up a digital voice recorder for sixty bucks or something. cassette tapes are too hard to keep organized.

May 20, 2005 09:04 am Yeah, there's deffinately a formula, but I'm sure it involves much more than just music... most of what makes a hit a 'hit', is how everybody else treats it . There's alot of music that in my opinion should be a hit, or is at the least hit-ish, but they're not a hit . The music, society, metaphysics, chaos, distribution/logistics, timing... all have there place in the formula, though the whole concept is a bit vast for me to wrap around it .
What do you want to make a hit for, anyway ? heh
