Hi there,

I recently started writing again after a 10 yr break. Looking for critiques of my songs and advice on getting up to date.

I'm used to the old days of 4-tracks and cheap drum machines. I've been playing around w/ loops by picking up free wav.s and tweaking them w/ Cool Edit 2.0. I'm getting Reason 2.5 (along w/ 10Gb of refills) so I can program/loop drums/synths to record under Stick, guitar and vocals. To save CPU space I'm recording loops and then live audio to a Boss BR-864.

I'm having a hard time finding odd-time sig prog-rock and jazz loops. I can program them once I get Reason but I'd like to find other loops as well. Any site/software suggestions?

Since I've been away for so long, I'd appreciate any feedback on what I've written/recorded in the past, particularly in trying to update my sound. Here's a link to my site.

Thanks,

Jeff

I gave up on loops a while ago. I create my own beats with Tabit. I works pretty well so far. You can put in any time signature you want.

Im in class right now but when I get home Ill be sure to have a listen to your music.

sounds cool, reminds me of stiltskin.

in what way do you want to update the sound? as in, better recording quality or a more contemporary feel to the actual arrangements...

Rockin' Jeff! You really have some great songs there, along with quite a bit of diversity!
