Reason 2.0

Another forum inspired me to try using Reason again. Theres things I like and dislike about it. I like how it uses less resources, but I dont like how some of the plug-ins are pretty cheezy (like the digital reverb). Maybe in the new addition, they added a better reverb with more features.

I was wondering, is it possible to record vocals directly in Reason? I know in Fruity Loops, I can record vocals in real-time. I also know I can use Audition and Re-Wire to record vocals that way, but this starts eating at the CPU resources. Maybe a newer addition allows this?

i'm not sure, but reason 2.5 is tons better, sweet reverb, awsome distortion, and killer sampler all added, check into the upgrade, it's totally worth it.....as for recording audio, i dont' think it does, then again i'm not sure cuz i've never tried.

Yes, I believe that. The reverb in 2.0 is pretty dam cheezy, lol. I'm sure the 2.5 is much better.

there's a advanced reverb in 2.5 that's pretty heavy but unfortunately no vocals nor will there br in 3.0....which is fine with me cause I personaly don't trust a product that tries to do everything cause they usually are lacking in key areas where as a program that focuses on certain things gets those things done flawlessly.I don't know your pc specs but Reason rewired to Audition shouldn't be too hard on your system.

(off topic)Im listening to a great song you guys should check out It's called Mr lonley by Akon

im like 99% sure you cand record direct to reason, however, if you dont want to rewire you can record your vocals on a seperate program then use the samplers in reason to play a .wav file of your vocals. thats all ive tried other than rewire(which is the best way by far to do it).

reason does not allow you to record vocals and i totally agree with renegade,it does so much already, excellent at that, they leave the recording of vocals to the other guys.....and i didn't kno you could record vocals in FL...

I don't know, I always thought the reverb in Reason was pretty bad. I mean, you have only like 2 paramaters, and I don't really use it. However, I did add soem digital reverb (different than the regular reverb effect) to a organ sound and it made it sound incredible. But overall, I hardly ever use any of the effects within Reason. I always export my loops to Cool Edit and add effects there.
