Help! what is better as far as recording? it looks like a workstation has it all. i`ve used the digi001 with protools and i really liked it but a PC has its glitches, and the only all in one recorder i`ved used is a Boss BR-8 and for its size was pretty cool. now i want to buy something in a 24 track size but can`t spend $3000 buck.

better? that's subjective, if ya need portabillity, then the standalone is gonna shine through, if you want more flexibility, the pc looks like a contortionist compaired to a workstation.

My studio PC doesn't have glitches...it's solid as a rock...I'd never trade PC recording for some hard-disk recorder unless, like wyd said, I needed to go mobile...then I still might not.

never say never.i had a scsi drive go down and lost most of my work. not to say nothing would go bad in a workstation. so i guess the bad is if something goes down in a workstation the whole thing is out. but can i get in a pc setup for $3000.00?
thanks
