id wouldve put this out the back in the Pro section but i thought id give anyone here who isnt pro yet the chance to collaborate on something...just to see how things work around here. maybe if you enjoy the experience you could fork out a couple of bucks a month to be a pro member and do more of this.
anyhoo...
im making a song where i want the chorus to be sung by, like, 200 people. kinda like 'give peace a chance', but less hairy. the file is here : www.flamemusic.com/index.php?ax=view&id=14 (chorus for HRC its called), and what id like is for people to download it and record your vocal over the top. then, when its done, you can send the file back to me, and youll be mixed in as part of the song. easy huh?
anyone can contribute, not just the new faces around here...bring it on people! id appreciate any hep with this, get your wives, kids, parents, everyone singing it to boost the numbers.

Oct 05, 2004 08:18 pm Sweet,I'll get the boyz to chime in as well. I like the way tonyd was singin with a bit of english inflection there. It happens to me as well when I am singing to yout stuf flame. Its like we are influanced by the sound of your voice. Anyway, is there more to the tune yet? I am curious to see what direction you are goin with it.
As a side note, I freaked out when I listened to the Snow Song, It made me wanna jam along with it. And I may do just that and send ya the results.

noize : when i did db's song i kept singing that in an american voice - weird aint it? ive got all the verses and stuff for the tune, but not recorded yet, but i know the tempo and key and what have you...maybe ill do that today...
as for the snow song, feel free, send me whatever ya come up with! its a little bare as is, so plenty of room to mess about. its in d# i think...

I'd like to help out some...but I'm so new I don't know how to post a recording yet.

basically, what we would normally do is use the collaboration features at HRC to upload and share the files. to do this you need to be a Pro member, which costs $24 a year, and gives you an ammount of storage space and loads of other features. you can checkthese out by hitting the pro icon, top left.
in this case though, files can be emailed direct to me at [email protected]
who knows, if you enjoy the experience maybe youll find the investment worthy.
either way, look forward to hearing what ya got!

But flame, is there anything tricky I should know to do between recording and emailing...eg compression or maybe converting signals or such? Be obliged for any further advice.

Oct 11, 2004 06:13 am OK flame...I sent through three lines - 2x harmony and the melody. Is not very professional...took only a few minutes.
But what happened was the second line of harmony didn't play in mp3. It was all ripped together to cd (haven't got internet on studio computer). All parts play through monitors. What do you suppose happened?
Hope its ok...I will redo it anyway...Otherwise I could job share with tonyd (ummm...butt wiggler? hehehe).
That was fun flame. Thanks for the opportunity.
