heres a picture of my new desk...my dad and i built this desk for under 100 dollars...its as solid as nails...we are installing two 4-space racks on the left and right under the monitor bridge for my rack mount gear...the live room is directly behind the wall shown in the picture...connected to a 65-foot jade audio snake

Aug 28, 2004 12:09 am looks nice. do those monitors resonate on that desk?
Aug 28, 2004 07:51 am Very cool, I built my own too, it has 11 rack spaces on one side and the same space on the other, but with now rack rails to put non-rack stuff like a tape deck, VCR and such. Mine cost under $200...it is a good feeling building your own sometimes, eh :-)
Ya, make sure you put some felt or rubber feet on those speakers.
Aug 28, 2004 10:36 am Whilst I didnt technically build my own desk, I did put together a small studio in ma loft of which I am quite proud...setting up all ma gear and seein all ma leds buzzin away is a nice feelin :-)
Good fun it is..even if it is small scale.

Aug 28, 2004 10:42 am Hey DB
Whats the new avatar? Team I mean - take it, its to combat Geetar Jim's yellow hat (whitever thats for - I dunno :-)

Aug 28, 2004 11:20 am It's football season, so my Vikings avatar is back. It's kinda funny that guitar_jim has the Packers helmet. The Packers are from Wisconsin, the vikings are from Minnesota, neighboring states, and there are many transplanted fans in each others areas so it has grown into a fun rivalry (for the most part, some people get crazy about it). My neighbor is a Packer fan and we have fun with it every season. Especially on game day when my 8 foot tall blow-up Viking goes in my front yard and looks over at his house :-)
It's all good clean fun...or should be anyway.
Aug 28, 2004 11:29 am hehehehehhehe - great!!!
I have similar here in Edinburgh 2 (well we are) fitba teams - Hibs and Hearts - rivalry is (mostly) fun except the asses who take it too seriously, bring in religion etc which has NOWT to do with it.
But me and ma best mate are both different teams. I recently got married, he was best man so I had him dress in MY FOOTBALL TEAM'S TARTAN!
AHahahahahaha...yep - gid clean fun!
