Well if I had to bet, I'd bet the dedicated hardware would do somewhat better. I checked out the Antares demo, and listened to samples of the tc helicon both seemed to do a very good job.

Check out the Digitech vocal processors as well, they are cheaper and still do a great job especially for just pitch correcting. Getting into Harmonizers which I think helicon and antares are capable of I don't know how the Digitech is in comparsion, but still worth checking.

Also be aware Antares installs Pace Lock anti-piracy software on your computer which runs whether your using the software or not, something you won't have to put up with if you go the hardware route.

if youre looking for pitch correcting, just make sure its hardware (i hated the software one).

antares is better on the low end of the price range.. but i preferred the tc-helicon if youre willing to spend the money.

If you are just talking about pitch correction the Antares is very simple to use and does a pretty nice job. The ATR-1 I think is the model number on it. If you are talking about the Antares Vocal Produce, I had one and sent it back. I wasn't at all happy with the results. If you are looking for a harmonizer then you are going to want that T.C Helecon VoiceWorks. That thing has pitch correction and a whole lot of other goodies. I have one and it sounds great! It just depends on what exactly you are looking to accomplish with the unit.
