"Avoid fluorescent lights because they can introduce noise into your room and into your audio systems." -acoustics101.com
Are any of you guys familiar with this concept?

Aug 16, 2004 11:13 pm Ooops...
It's a fact .
Heck, listen to 'em .
Bzzzzzzzzzzzz...
Aug 17, 2004 03:04 am They not only create external buzz, they can cause problems with your electrical system. They emphasize the hum at 60HZ that is present in all electrical systems in the US.

And yes indeed, the Fluorescent lights will cause major legue hum especially if your cables are not well sheilded and such.

Aug 17, 2004 09:45 pm Yeah, I heard this a long time ago. It's kinda hard to miss that buzzing sound.
I don't think thats jamie garrett, bro. I've wondered for awhile what happened to him. I didn't want to be nosey...so I did'nt ask. I think I remember him saying something about going away for awhile...maybe I'm wrong.
Aug 17, 2004 10:15 pm Nope, not me.

Aug 18, 2004 12:46 am also, fans, power tools, refrigerators, electric chainsaws and lawnmowers...point is to try to keep all your recording stuff on its own isolated circuit, preferably with a power conditioner to clean it all up.

...and if you have them all switched on they make even more noise!!
Aug 18, 2004 07:59 am Yeah, neon lights are rough on sound, it sucks they are in every bar in the world.

He doesn't like me personally, and I was told so. Since it is my site I assume he just stopped coming.

Aug 18, 2004 11:50 am maybe this is less of a surprise, but he doesn't like me personally either, dB.
Aug 18, 2004 12:04 pm Well, we are both kinda strong minded peeps...so I see a pattern :-)
It is a surprise though, cuz as long as we stay off politcal topics I see nothing dislikable about you ;-)

Aug 18, 2004 09:08 pm nah i'm not a kerry campaigner by any means. i'm extremely disillusioned with both major parties, both of their candidates. doesn't mean don't vote though.

Well, we agree on one thing, I can say that for sure...
But I love ketchup, sometimes I even like french fries with my serving of ketchup.

Aug 19, 2004 01:58 pm i saw this bumper sticker:
"with republicans, man exploits man.
with democrats, it's just the opposite."
thought that was kind of clever.
i think sweet potatoes cut into fries, shaken in a plastic bag with olive oil, cooked at 450 degrees until browned are far superior (both in taste AND nutrition) to fries made from potatoes.
not like i'm trying to start a firestorm over fries :-)
