Hello All!

I've been checking this site out for a few days going through past threads and have found very uselful information, but I haven't found anything on my troubles now. I will attempt to explain my current situation as best as possible.

I have an Oxygen 8 Midi controller with the newest version of Fruityloops. When I play something through the controller and record it, it doesn't play back the same way I played it. I go to the Piano Roll and it just doesn't sound the same. Can anyone assist me in resolving this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advanced!

Thanks for having me on the site!

Flame, I would have to say it's not playing in time. I do here the sounds so they're not distorted, they're just not playing in the same format or sequence inwhich I am playing them. I hope this helps......

Thanks for your time!

when in fruity, press F10, select the audio tab and chage the slider labelled 'buffer length' to about 40ms instead of 300 or 400. do this before recording, and then change it back after, see if that helps...

Flame:

The solution you've provided actually solved a problem I had about 3 days ago. When I would press the key on the controller I wouldn't hear the sound immediately, I would hear it about a second later. That problem's been fixed.

But I have figured out the problem you are trying to help me with. It's difficult for me to describe it, but I can see how you would've recommended your previous solution after I described my earlier problem.

When I would record playing the controller the notes were not being played the same. After I recorded my necessary parts I went into the Piano Roller and noticed that the keys that were being pressed were staying down longer than I wanted. That was my problem. I don't know how I figured it out, but I went to the Channel Settings for that specific sound and selected the Time option under the VOL tab and INS tab so that the Time option was now Orange and then I changed the attack level. Now it's playing the notes as I want them to sound, but you do have to go and adjust this manual each time you play live through the controller.

Sorry if this all sounds confusing, but I wanted to decribe my solution as clearly as possible incase someone else is in the same predicament.

Thanks again for your help Flame!

Be cool!

Idle curiosity, how many other USB devices do you have on your PC, and how fast is your PC?

I have that problem with my Radium49, but only on my PC that has other USB devices and has less RAM and a smaller CPU. Once I hook it up to my studio PC (much bigger PC) it works fine.

ALso, are you powering it via the USB cable or plugging it in to the wall...as I recall the Oxygen has both options, but not sure, I know my Radium does...

I have a P4 - 3 GHz and a Gig of RAM with 8 USB ports of which one is being used by my mouse and the other by my Oxygen8. My midi controller is receiving power through the USB port. You are right the Oxygen does have both options for power either through USB or wall power supply.

Which problem are you having? The first one I mentioned or my second problem?

I am having latency in my notes...I press the key and the note comes out a second or so later...

As far as the aftertouch being marked wrong...well, I think my first thought is going to maudio.com and making sure you have the newest drivers for the oxygen...it'd be a place to start.

Actually that's the same problem I had a few days ago....

Did you see Flames second post to this thread?

Have you tried this suggestion?

This will be the solution to your problem. If this doesn't work then I too would try updating my drivers.

I don't use FL...and don't use my Radium on that slow machine, so it's really not an issue, just a memory I had
