We are recording this weekend. I have the Aardvark 20/20+ to use the inputs for the drums. I have a Delta 1010 for everything else. I have a split second delay between what's recorded on the 20/20+ and the Delta and I can't get that to stop. I'm using the outs on the Delta for my monitors. In Sonar 3, I have those set up as the play master and also the recording master. I tried changing that to the Aardvark but get the same results. HELP!!

The only thing I can think of is after you record, try taking the tracks that aren't delayed and add a digital delay to line everything in sync. Or maybe you can find a way to move the tracks forward or back by entering the amount of samples to move by. Acid 4.0 has this option but I'm not familiar with Sonar.

Good luck :y

The only thing I can think of is to go into your Delta control panel, click on the "hardware settings" tab, and adjust the "DMA buffer size" setting. Thats the only place that I see anything about latency on the Delta control panel.

The aardvark may have a better control for it, but I think that you can introduce latency for just such an occasion, upping it little by little until the difference in latency between the 2 cards is negligible.

good luck!

I got it fixed. Under my Delta Control Panel, I had the clock syn. at 96 and the Aardvark was at 44.1. I was scared so bad that I about pooped in my pants. But, after I switched the Delta to 44.1 like the other, it was fine. Thank you all for the fast posting. I have learned 2 things today. One, about clock syn. and how to clean your pants with concentration affectively.

Thanks a bunch.

vdale, one thing you might want to look at also is the fact they might both be set at 44.1 but they are not truly in syc. Every clock is a bit differant, not much but enough to be noticed in the long run. What you will want to do is make only one unit the master clock and make the other sync to it.
