Eternal Sunshine Of The...warbly,vinyl guitar sound!...

Hi,
this sounds like a random question!...but has anyone seen that film..."Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind"?? Anyway, I loved the soundtrack. I went out and bought it and all the little semi-classical pieces have so much charm and the production sounds great!
Anyway, there are two songs in particular, although the sound is used a few times on the cd...but the tracks are called "phone call" and "Collecting Things"...and to cut a long story short, I`m interested in ways to get that same sort of acoustic guitar sound and what techniques they might have used to achieve it?...it sounds as though it is played on a record player, and there is some warble...very tape-like!
But it`s really scratchy and warbly and nice!...so warm in an analog way!
Anyway, sorry about the randomness of this post!
But thankyou so much for any help or suggestions.
Take Care,
Alex

There are all sorts of plug-ins you could use to get that effect. My bad did that on the opening track of our CD. Made it sound kinda dark, but its a good way. Like a old record or phonograph.

Here is a really good plug in (FREE TOO!!!) that I've found, used, and really liked.

www.izotope.com/products/audio/vinyl/

That might get you the results you're looking for.

Cheers!

If you want a really retro, very old sounding phonograph sound, STeinbergs "Grungelizer"...hard to find, but it's awesome.

Berringer's "Vinalazer", does that as well...

On my CDX-1, Roland even gives the option of 45, or LP speed, for the 'scratchyness, as well as being able to vary/match the frequency of the effect. I'm not sure if all the COSM systems have this, though?
