I was going to go listen to some songs in Members music and every link I click on I get transfered to a white page that says this:
"No Leeching
No hotlinking to HRC servers is allowed, this request has come from homerecordingconnection.com."
Win XP Pro using Microsoft IE v6.0.2800
Know what this is?

Mar 11, 2004 10:50 pm Its working for me. Maybe dB will have an answer for ya, or at least give ya a couple of ideas what to look for.
Mar 12, 2004 04:28 am Ya, I know what that is, it generally gets seen when you have clicked on a link from a site other than HRC and try to listen to the music within HRC. What song? are you clicking to stream or download the song? What browser are you using, does it only happen with IE6 or others? Are you running a firewall on your PC?
Mar 12, 2004 06:05 am Sorry for lack of info.
It happens when I click ona link to stream a song. It happens with all of the songs. I will try AOL when I get home on a different computer. I am not running a firewall on this comp.
I can get around it by saving target as but it seems as though I can't stream...
Browser is Microsoft IE v6.0.2800
Mar 12, 2004 06:05 am Almost forgot. Using WMP.
Mar 12, 2004 07:06 am Pro member music or regular free member music or both? pro and regular member music works very differently...
Mar 12, 2004 11:30 am dB> If you are using the referer environment variable, make sure you account for the fact that 40% of browsers do not send a value, and most users using 'paranoiaware' tend to have the value hardset to something other than the actuall referer.

Mar 12, 2004 12:18 pm I am well aware of that, thanks.
I use htaccess for remote loading control, such as it is, I have used referrer in the downloading script, turned it on and off at various times to see how much it affects people. Have not found a good way to control remote loading yet, but thus far it hasn't been a huge prob either.

Mar 12, 2004 05:10 pm OK, give it a go next time you get the chance.
Mar 13, 2004 01:19 pm I'm working on the 'look' right now, as most of the functionality is finished. If all goes extremely well, a few weeks to release...
