Anybody familiar with these? I was looking for some monitors that provide fairly accurate sound reproduction (flat freq response, etc.), for under $100. These fit my price range. AM I going to be dissapointed with the sound quality?

Aug 19, 2003 02:19 pm I don't think I have any experience with them, but it doesn't appear that they are much more than high end computer speakers. If you don't want to spend at least $300 on monitors, I would recommend looking into some flat response studio headphones for mixing. Monitors would probably be better, but headphones can do the job as well. I would recommend the Audio Technica ATH-M40fs Studiophones. They are only $80 at the moment, and I have had some personal experience using them. I thought they sounded incredible. Extremely detailed. I've also heard some other folks say they have been very impressed with them. I almost bought a pair once until I found a great deal on the M-Audio monitors (They came free with a $500 condenser mic!). Anyways, check out those headphones... I think I may buy some now that I've researched them again.

Aug 19, 2003 02:40 pm my right monitor is a roland MA-8. i wish i had the same for a left, but it's not that great.
Aug 19, 2003 02:50 pm Ya, those are not "studio monitors" though they may try to push them as such. They are simple monitors for keyboardists to clamp on their racks for monitoring, not meant for mixing and/or mastering.
IMO.
Aug 19, 2003 03:34 pm Minkus, I noticed that awhile back, that your left and right speakers are different. Any reason for that? Just a ghetto setup?
